Interesting. Also, interesting to see Chris Gayle rank above all three but looking at Gayle's stats they are halfway decent for an opener. Average of 40 + vs 5 of the 9 test nations. Yes 2 of them are Zim/Bang. Away not too shabby either.

Mahela was good on Indian tracks too, and that may have hugely affecting his average against quality oppositions.

Hunte against Quality Opposition is great. Let down by his peak, which IMO doesn't matter that much.

Yea he was a hell of a player and often goes 'forgotten' to an extent when talking about best batsmen.
