I am finding the whole issue of the discussion of trades quite useless at the moment. No one really knows what the averages of their players will be for another 6 weeks or so. Trades can't be confirmed until then so why bother. It's a complete waste of time and energy. I will be away for pretty much all of September so I will thankfully miss out on these discussions. These comments can be taken as that I will not discuss any trades until the relevant period. I will not even return emails about it so please don't try.

I will also be interested to see how the new sim affects things with regards to mine and other teams. On first glance it looks like Sriram has done a superlative job and it will take the WCC to a new level as the results will be more realistic. People should take this into effect before deciding on who to keep and who to get rid of.

But we have no way of knowing how various players will perform in the new sim so how can that be part of our consideration as to who to dispose of from our lineup?

Yeah 2 games per team have been done till date, more will be coming shortly...

I will get the other board members to also run a few friendlies for all teams with mixed lineups and post the scorecards on the forum....

We will also have the one day games as well...

Everyone keeps going on how experiance will make an impact on the game, but if a 19 year old avg 55 he can't not score runs IMO.

Quite frankly it's up to the manager if he does or he doesn't why does everyone need to moan about it? if you don't want to trade then don't... but alot of managers now know excatly what they need and who they want to get rid of, most people are only going for the top players anyway so know that they have perfromed and will be at least similar next season...some of us are willing to take a little risk in bring in a few decent players and afterall until they are confirmed in the thread nothing is certain anyway so we can back out if the star batsman we have lined up get 4 ducks in a row.

I also have to disagree about the avg's I blieve VC4 has got some sort of form built into it, but the developer either hasn't wished to make it public or didn't think it was key... because over the season the same people get you the runs / wickets.. each season I can go through a team avg's and your see about 3 batsman going mad and 3/4 bolwers the rest just sit in the middle around there overall avg's.... take Jayawardene of Kent the guy avg's 34 in OD yet in every innings regardless of opposition he hasn't got a score above 17 and now avg's 6.5 for the season, yet in FD he got a 100 in the first match and now has gone bonkers and is avg 97 ish.

Anyway the point is you can see who's getting the runs and therefore know that they will probley continue to do so at a simalar rate, give or take a little.

But like I said at the start it's the indivuals decision, if you don't want to trade so be it, but don't moan at the rest who are happy to take a risk.

Its not that he wouldnt score runs but cannot perform to his promised potential of 55 at least for some time to come!
I think the stats now could be renamed potential (that is the players performance at a certain age and certain amount of experience).Anything lesser or more in terms of age or experience would being to show...Have a look at NSWs performances in all the scorecards posted so far...Just shows how a star studded lineup can really perform to the mark unlike in VC.I wudnt be surprised if they take the cup in both forms next season provided they dont trade away their stars and Im not even considering the draft!!:O

The issue isn't whether people want to trade or not. I'll look at it when the time is right. IMO all this talk about it now is of no value to anyone. I won't comment on this further and will just stay out of any trade discussions.

Sriram,

Just so I can get my head around this potential term. Does the sim take into account both age and number of matches or is it just the number of matches (experience) that determines this potential. I am thinking about keeping a number of rookies for next season and this may affect my decision.

This "55" potential example - surely if the young players didn't reach this average in their early season, it would drop, and that "55" would prove wholly irrelevant?
