**Dev League Season 7**

I'm very proud of us Reds after the 5D win.

In the game that i got my 200th wicket it was an extremely great effort by the team so i could celebrate it with a victory.

The long batting order came in handy, we just out batted Australia A after our 1st innings. Lead by the captains century and Jagaways 80 everyone put in something with the bat, apart from the 2 tailenders .

In chasing the target set by Australia A, I think we should all pay full credit to Samuel Vimes, in a marathon innings, only bettered by Michael Atherton, Vimes scored 68 runs off 253 balls. Great effort that.

Lovely win guys, lets continue onto the 1D game where we desperatly need a win to try and secure top spot./

Agreed, Vimes has been a real star for us this year, and I would have thought he's not far off an International call up.

Ok. So the schedule has been revamped yet again down the stretch. That's the problem with planning a 60-game schedule, unless you proof read it perfectly, you'll make mistakes. Well, a major mistake this time as all teams but England A (23 games) should now be playing 22 5D games. This will please some as it's a longer stretch of 5D cricket, but it really is a huge miscalculation and apologies for it.

This really caused me a lot of stress as I spotted it whilst processing averages and had to go over all the scorecards for the season to sort it. One would hope that next season (like previous seasons), the day one schedule will be the same throughout.

Amended schedule attached with the addition of games:

CW Red vs England A at the MCG
Australia A vs CW Blue at the PDV Dome
England A vs CW Green Cairns

Apologies also to the England A management for an extended workload. :)

Next time I think I'll chuck the schedule into Excel and ask it to count the matches. Oh well, at least it gives me more time to play my favourite part of the game.

So we'll play two 5D-matches at the MCG after each other against England "A"?

AUSTRALIA 'A' 278/6 50.0 overs
CRICKET WEB RED 279/6 42.5 overs

Cricket Web Red won by 4 wickets

Man of the match: Bugssy

Daily Blast Comment: The specialist bowlers were belted in this epic Red chase. Brilliance at the top from Bugssy, Smith and Markus led the charge, but it took the cool head (and a dropped catch) of Jagaways too see the game through after some later wickets. Perhaps the unsung heroes can be considered as Marc71178 and Imran Khan Jr., however. The CW Red skipper and former Red vice-captain bowled superbly amidst the carnage of the Aussies to limit the total.

Man of the match: Yasa Fayaz

Daily Blast Comment: The irresistible Yasa Fayaz did it again. Brilliance from the young man first powered Black to 245 alongside BK Smith, then dismantled the threatening Green chase with two crucial and cheap wickets. Both teams should have batted for more runs. The Blacks collpased late whilst the Greens collapsed early. At the end a very important win for Black.

CRICKET WEB BLUE 283/4 50.0 overs
ENGLAND 'A' 245/7 50.0 overs

Cricket Web Blue won by 38 runs

Man of the match: Sudeep

Daily Blast Comment: The man won't be denied! Sudeep continues to impose his will upon his Dev League opponents and does so for the first time in OD this season. With a very poor start to his OD career, it was extremely impressive to see Sudeep play a gem of a knock, rotating the strike in the middle overs and then turning on the heat at the end. Very good win for Blue at this late stage of the season.

Loony BoB

International Captain
We were just too slow in that game and too many wickets fell too early so we weren't allowed the security to speed up until it was apparently too late, although we never really fired up at the end, either.

I have to hand it to the man from the other team, though, Yasa's been in fine form in the few games I've been hearing about him in and I've really seen him show it in the games he's played against us, I take my (unfortunately non-existant) hat off to him.

That's not to say we won't get our revenge, though. :)

I'm really starting to get sick of Yasa :p, twas a disappointing loss for us, i think we should have gotten 245. Chins up greenies and onward to tomorrows game :).

On a sidenote, getting kind of annoyed at my habit of getting out in the 60's almost every time I pass 50. I must get nervous a little too early or something. I should check out all my past scores sometime and see just how bad I am in that regard.

Well done Reds. That was a great win. Spectacular innings by Buggs, that really set it up for an easy victory. Could have been a record total if we batted first.

knocked over by fayaz :(

bowlers were too expensive, except Waughney, who bowled with excellent control cenceeding just 3.2 per over and picking up 2 wickets :)

the batting was weak. Loony bob was solid for 64 but as he has said, he should have gone on with it. solid support from teh tail too.

not too many games left this season guys, lets make sure we finish it on a huge high and really enjoy our cricket :)
