Cricketer Of The Year
No one competing for a top 10 spot was nearly ever as bad as that, especially while not in decline
Glenn McGrath – Australia vs New Zealand 2002.

Shane Warne – 1999 Frank Worrell trophy.

Hadlee was also rather pitful in Pakistan even though he got way more opportunities.

He played only 2 matches, both on rank turners where almost every wkt was taken by spin.
And actually bowled well
Yes, bowled a brilliant spell in the 4th inns of the first match, quite unlucky not to get more wickets.
Even in that series he was India's best pacer. Not remotely comparable with any of the above series.
Pitiful.

India’s best pacer because his competition was Mohammad Siraj… in one match.. Thoroughly outbowled by New Zealand’s pacers. Yes a rank turner when NZ’s pacers took 17 wickets.

Because the 1st innings was genuinely very pace friendly

Btw Lillee got outbowled by Greg Chappell

So the 7 wickets in the third innings were just.. coincidence? And the pitch was completely pace unfriendly after lunch on day 1? Ok cool
Actually, mostly yes. The pitch was pace friendly till around Day 1 Lunch and India largely shitted pants in 2nd innings. You would not even had posted this had you watched the game.

No I didn’t, its nice to get the context. So the pitch was conveniently friendly for pace for a single session and India shitted pants scoring 462, which accounts for the pacers taking 7 wickets in that innings.

Which excuses Bumrah’s efforts.

As I said, nice to know.

Guys it easily Ambrose in Pakistan 97.

Expensive by his standards, 1 wicket, outbowled by others, contemplated retirement after.

McGrath was just a quiet series but don't think he bowled badly.

Warne was playing still recovering from his surgery.

Hadlee early career.

It genuinely is the truth. The conditions changed drastically between innings (though O'Rourke and Henry bowled brilliant as well).

India shitted it's pants not because they were wrapped up inauspiciously for a low score, but they got a good start and a chance to bounce back, which they kicked away in high fashion. Set Kohli going out in the last ball of the Day, the next partnership looking good and Sarfaraz throwing his wicket while batting at 150 and from a situation where 600 was looking very possible, a collapse.
