that too, but i raised this with andy on MSN earlier, out frontline bowlers whoever they are keep getting smashed,
How do you know others will get smashed if not picked?

Especially as bowlers who went at 1.95 and 2.05 an over in the SA series haven't been tried.

A DISGRACE.

Changes MUST BE Made. Simple As. The Series is gone, let's experiment.

Unoffical Averages

Batting

PE Young 205 runs at 34.16
H Mørk 119 runs at 19.83
BJ Goff 129 runs at 21.50
AP Cloete 214 runs at 35.66
SJ Fitzsimmons 23 runs at 3.83
CR Butler 139 runs at 23.16
LA Camps 121 runs at 30.25
TC Halsey 23 runs at 5.75
S Bhatia 84 runs at 16.80
DP Richards 88 runs at 44
KS Wright 42 runs at 8.4
NS Pickup 2 runs at 2

Bowling

KS Wright 7 wickets at 46.14
S Bhatia 6 wickets at 70.66
LA Camps 10 wickets at 29.30
TC Halsey 1 wicket at 218
DP Richards 8 wickets at 37.50
NS Pickup 2 wickets at 62

Not Impressive.

MY XII for the final Test.

PE Young
MJ Robbins
AP Cloete
*BJ Goff
CR Butler
+H Mørk
LA Camps
DP Richards
XPA Rose
DM Kennett
NS Pickup
12th Man: DA Kearsley

When a batsman puts on just 23 runs in 6 innings you ditch him.

Unorthodox, as Marc is not an opener, but the Steds experiment worked for the A's (and Reds), but he has instilled a "Don't Complain" attitude for his Club, and I'm sure any chance of a Test apperance would be grabbed. I was toying with Kearsley instead of Marc but he seems like a better, more solid choice.

Bowling Order for me, IMPORTANT. YOU NEED TO BOWL PART-TIMERS IF WE'RE IN TROUBLE.

I think you all need to calm down a bit and look at it peacefully. It seems strange somehow that the bowlers seem to be making more runs than the 'batsmen'. The bowling looked ok for the first game or so but now it's doing as badly as the batting. Would have expected better after getting that draw.

He may do but, he just hit a rather nice knock at 6, so even though it may seem like the logical option for him to open, you're a solid batsman and he would give the rather fragile lower order some stability.

Asked for comment about the Media's recent suggestions of changes to the CW XI squad for the final Test in India, Liam Camps stated:

"Kyle Wright is the leader of our attack. He's clearly our most potent seam bowler at the moment, and will be treated as such."

since i struggled in 3 tests and the series is gone you would just ditch me? despite the fact im still a long term option for the team its more beneficial for everyone if i hit a good score than it is for some rookie.
If im dropped so be it, im expecting it now, but if im the only one i would be more than disapointed...

there are obviously more than just you up on the chopping block, i myself am sure im up there with ya, haha. but hey the selectors may want to try something different for this one off test who know. just have to work hard in the next dev league season to get back in there

How about you take your catches before you start critisising other players in the side!
Kyle that was quite uncalled for and I'm surprised no one even picked you up for it! Considering you're basically just criticising me...

I haven't once criticised you or anyone else! All I'm saying is that if the bowler's can't seem to break a partnership then it's worth giving marc (if he's playing) or anotherp art-timer a go. Particularly when you consider Marc averaged 20 against SA.

It wasn't a shot at anyone, partnerships always happen in cricket. If the bowler's just can't seem to get the break through, it's surely worthy trying someone else...

TBH, I'm not really sure what I was up to with the dropping of Kylie . I'd on reflection, keep him in for one of Rose or Kennett.

Thank You.

I don't think the answer is to drop players randomly in the middle of a tour, but I do think it should be recognised that we have a significant reserve of young talent in the dev league at the moment, with players like Cunningham simply dominating but not being considered for a place in touring test squads.

I'd like to think, with the results against both South Africa and India, a hard look would be taken at those who are successful in the next dev league season for inclusion in the test squad in the near future.

success in the dev league doesnt equate to test success though, look at me, seven centuries averaging over 60 in the last dev league season, this test series ive managed only 20 odd runs...

Surely a rookie is just as much of a long term option though?

How is it more beneficial for the team?

Selection policy meant that rookies were very unlikely to be called up.

Which is only right, seeing how ridiculous the sign-ups got.

Which is why you'd drop him after a poor tour, yet you wouldn't drop Kyle?

Sorry.. a case of double standards here.

Just dropping so many people isn't going to, and never will, achieve anything. India are a damn good team, we're slowling getting better but we have to come to terms with hiccups like these along the way!

so i may as well kiss my test career goodbye because of 3 tests?
think of Australia everytime a player has a poor series like Martyn, Langer, Mark Waugh, Hayden people call for their heads, the selectors stick with them because they were/are the best people, thats why they were picked in the first place...

But I don't see how this hypothetical rookie isn't also a long term option?

How is it bad for the team if a rookie comes in and shows they can do it?

KennyD

I think the only time when you can start questioning a regular test member's place after 3 tests, is if this "hypothetical" rookie is performing. Usually when M Waugh, Hayden, Langer...whoever are on the chopping block, there is always an outstanding rookie who is doing very very well. If we are to start speaking of axing a player, I think you can't talk about a "hypothetical" rookie, but instead start naming some names.

And I'm not too sure there are any deserving and outstanding rookies. (In agreeance with Marc about sign-ups).
