CWXI Dev League: Team Names

Marc isn't because you are constantly bringing it up!

You being sacked leaves you with nothing at all.....Even if you've talked your way out of an XI, you have more chance of a game than sitting on the sidelines till the next dev season.

I'll give you a clue aswell - its not only Marc who doesn't want you in the Red side, you've done a fair job of annoying the living daylights out of everybody.

International Vice-Captain
I'm not taking rubbish decisions lying down is all. Everyone in the Reds would be annoyed and do the same thing if it happened to them. I know you will say you wouldn't, but you would.

They'd never have been silly enough to proclaim they didn't care about one form of the game.

I tend to agree it was a misinterpretation, however you should have discussed it calmly with Marc, or just sat out the ban/non-selection/whatever.

I'm 100% behind Marc, you lost all my sympathy when you started comparing yourself to Glen McGrath.

Good thing that I (as a bowler) don't care that much about 25 over matches. Stats don't say much for us bowlers unfortunately...
Bit hard to misinterpret that I think. Fairly clear cut.

Ok. Time for an intervention.

A couple of things:

1/ Marc is not abusing power because he quite simple does not have that kind of power. If the CWBCC does not back his decision, a player can not be sacked. Marc himself will tell you that I eased up on Mr Ponting's suspension because I thought it to be unfair in length. If you have an issue, direct it at me or the CWBCC as a whole.

2/ There are means to complain in the CW XI system. That's why we have a Players Association. Posting all over the place and complaining about your sacking is getting you nowhere but down. I already spoke to you on MSN about the way to appeal a suspension or unfair decision and yet you've come back and done the same thing.

Let this be the end of the issue in such a manner. If it is to continue, let it be done in a civil way in the PA forum and starting with a formal appeal to the Board.

Liam - I sent the CWBCC an e-mail concerning these matters earlier today.

Mr. W - That post was not a direct comparison with McGrath.

So what's the problem then?

It would be a rubbish decision to drop any of the 3 seamers who are all performing very well indeed.

Yes, because when McGrath returned for Australia, he wasn't replacing someone who'd done better than he'd done.

i think mr.p has dealt with it poorly, but i dont beleive he deserved a ban for what he originally said. at the end of the day we are here to have fun. y should one person be able to ruin that for another? its not like what was said offended anyone, it wasnt hurtful or disrespectful to the team such as the last debarcle. and its not like he can influence teh sim in anyway by his attitude. i took the comment with a grain of humour, the game i soooo stacked in favour of the batsman, i didnt interpret to mean he wasnt giving 100%

Yes, it is a sim, and yes it shouldn't be taken too seriously. However, we should treat this like a real league, and a real competition. Therefore if it was real and someone came into the dressing room and said "Oh well we lost, and I didn't bowl that well, but that's okay because I don't really care about smash25." I think I know where that would lead. A suspension is an easy let off, if it was real, that player would more than likely be sacked from the team, or face some kind of diciplanary action.

And had he accepted it and bided his time, he'd have been next in line for a call-up if one of the pacemen get injured or lose form.

5th - "Since his suspension, his replacements have been superb, so there's no spot for him back in the side - it would be unfair to the 3 current seamers to drop any of them" I find this comment ironic. Think about it marc.

I have thought about it, and cannot see any irony.

The facts show that in the last 3 FC games, the 3 pacers you're challenging have all performed better than you did in the 3 FC games you played.

So where's the irony?

So what does everyone think? Will we go with these names/mascots?
I can create a new one for the new team too.
