Technically DBS, BSU and CD can still make the five but I reckon they're gone even if they win both their remaining games; I can't see less than 60 points making the top 5 from here. In fact I could see 60 still missing out which puts the Sparks on shaky ground too.

Avengers only picking up 2 out of a possible 30 points in their last three games really sees them in danger of both Dan and Spark given they have two top-four teams to play in their last two games.

is the combination needed for a finals spot?

Top two are now locked in, and it'd take something slightly unusual (but certainly not impossible - Avengers beat Squirts but Squirts take first innings and Bye winning would do it, as would several situations involving a draw) for Hydra to miss out even if they lost.

Sparks despite winning their last two games are now kind of long shots - they'd need to not only take all ten points from their last game, but also rely on the Squirts taking a full ten from the Avengers and the Bye getting a maximum one point against the Pixies. In their favour, if all three teams currently ranked higher on the ladder won these games that's exactly what would happen and they'd finish fifth.

If the Bye take full points from their game they're definitely in as the Squirts and Avengers play each other, but the Pixies not securing first spot will mean they have to select a full strength side so it's a tough ask.

It's still possible for any of the teams from 9 down to collect the spoon, too, leaving DBS in no-man's land.

What I've learnt this season is to never underestimate the Bye...

It's pretty crazy. Morgies team is legitimately top 6 on paper but has only showed their actual quality once or twice. Meanwhile Dan's team which before the tournament you'd probably safely say should only scrape a couple wins, has almost secured themselves a spot in the finals and has beaten many of the best teams in the comp.

Interesting that the Avengers only had the 8th best quotient but finished 5th anyway. When they lost they tended to get pumped.
