Micheal Hussey to be my No.12. He can play @ No.5 if we decide to rest Faulkner or Snow.

3. Ian Chappell / ( c )
4. Graeme Pollock /
5. Aubrey Faulkner / o (6)

I might have played Hussey ahead of Kumble. Faulkner can be the sole spinner and bat at 6 imo.
That's one good possibility. The other one is;

01. Herbert Sutcliffe /
02. Matthew Hayden /
03. Ian Chappell / ( c )
04. Graeme Pollock /
05. Aubrey Faulkner / o (5)
06. Mike Hussey /
07. Denis Lindsay + /
08. Anil Kumble o / (4)
09. Malcolm Marshall o (1)
10. John Snow o (3)
11. Dennis Lillee o (2)

Good batting depth and plenty of fire-power in both spin and fast bowling.

But I'm still not sure which of those 3-4 possible line-ups is best.

I rank Marshall, Lillee, Botham and Snow higher than Kumble, so it's fairly straightforward for me. Having 4 quicks + Faulkner is a good enough attack. I think Joe did that once in a scorecard draft iirc.

Thats why I won that Scorecard Draft, Sam! I had 2 spinners in O'Reilly ( No, I am not comparing him with Jumbo ) and Faulkner.

I'd probably leave Snow out instead.

10. Malcolm Marshall o (1)
11. Dennis Lillee o (2)

Yep that also works. With Dennis Lindsay at No.8 the batting goes on forever.

I'm a John Snow fan (especially when partnered with Lillee which would be awesome), and like the idea of two spinners, so the second option works for me.

However, most people would prefer Ian Botham I think. So if you are after votes then Ian Botham going in at No.7 or No.8 depending on whether you think he is a better batsman than Denis Lindsay or not, probably wins the day. That is, Monk's and PEW's choice.

(Incidently, if Botham is batting at No.6 for our CW ATG England team then I sincerely hope that he is a better batsman than Denis Lindsay and bats higher than the South African. Otherwise we are being rather inconsistant)

Just a tentatitive suggestion - If everyone posts their finalised team in the correct batting order then I am happy to set up the voting thread.

(I am assuming here that Jager is working many hours and therefore very tired)

Great team top to bottom, excellent aggressive batting order, extremepace, accuratcy, wrist and finger spin and lots of aggression in the bowling attack. Five test captains and a great fielding side with a great wicket keeper and excellent cordon as well. A top five opener, middle order batsman, pacer and spinner on display.
Proud of effort on this one.
