Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
So we're deciding the greatest All-Rounder ever. We are including any and all formats of cricket when deciding our vote, Test, FC, ODI, Twenty20, List A and T20.
Greatest All-Rounder Ever - Challonge
There's the bracket. I ended up randomizing again it as this is a fairly wide open race so seeding would have been a little silly I think. Having said that, there are two names that always come up when discussing the title of greatest AR ever and as chance would have it they can't run into each other until very late in the piece. There are no howlers like McGrath drawing Marshall in round 2 of the bowling tournament I think so that's good.
I think there are some interesting match-ups here in round 1.
Slogger vs Slogger and Country vs Country appear a few times. A few matches that might have occurred a little later than round 1 or 2 had i seeded, but oh well. I like the unpredictability.
I apologise again for making people vote 32 times in round 1, it's always an effort.
Here we are, the matches(should last around 48 hours):
Round 1:
Dan Vettori vs Frank Foster
Trevor Bailey vs Tony Greig
Wasim Akram vs Shane Watson
George Giffen vs Monty Noble
Ravi Ashwin vs Abdul Razzaq
Chris Harris vs Neil Johnson
Gilbert Jessop vs Lance Klusener
Jacques Kallis vs Aubrey Faulkner
Andrew Flintoff vs Warwick Armstrong
Kapil Dev vs Maurice Tate
Shaun Pollock vs WG Grace
Imran Khan vs Frank Woolley
Dwayne Bravo vs Keith Miller
Sanath Jayasuriya vs Gubby Allen
Ravi Bopara vs Richie Benaud
Wally Hammond vs Shahid Afridi
Mustaq Mohammad vs Andrew Symonds
Chris Gayle vs Angelo Matthews
Jacob Oram vs Shakib Al-Hasan
Chris Cairns vs Ravi Jadeja
Wilfred Rhodes vs John Reid
Vinoo Mankad vs Richard Hadlee
Ian Botham vs Ray Illingworth
Mitch Johnson vs Mike Procter
Mohammad Hafeez vs Ryan ten Doeschate
Azhar Mahmood vs Garry Sobers
Alan Davidson vs Steve Waugh
Clive Rice vs Trevor Goddard
Steve Tikolo vs Heath Streak
Jack Gregory vs Stuart Broad
Learie Constantine vs Carl Hooper
Chaminda Vaas vs Brian McMillan
I think group 6 and 3 are the groups of death. A lot of potential quarter finalists in both 8-packs yet only 1 in each can make the final 8.
oh well, vote away!
