Wasim and Waqar are both a little overrated imho. Ambrose quite easily over Wasim - never seen anyone intimidate Australian batsmen the way Sir Curtly did ( well maybe except Bishop in 1993),
Hadlee was up there in this respect although he intimidated them through his skill and precision.

Curtly was so mean that he is the only bowler that comes to mind if I wonder about any one bowler who would be miser and threatening at the same time regardless of the pitch and format, only bowler i can think of who could/would give batsman a hard time even in t20s being played these days.

I am lucky enough to have watched both a lot. Wasim would get into more AT X1s - best LH ever. But if asked who could wreck a line-up if all the chips were on the line: Ambrose.

Of all the cricketers I have seen in real time (a lot), both of these would make the X1.

I disagree. Garner while not the pack leader had a great average, sr, wpm and econ. And he was ridiculously consistent home and away. Garner> Lindwall for me at the very least.
Lindwall missed few really good years to war and played way too long.Don’t think there is much difference between the two.

It’s regrettable that big Curt never fired in all cylinders against us.

Would have loved two Ws at their peak against Sachin. Missed out on some historic battles there..

I remember a test in West indies where Walsh, Ambrose and Rose routed out India. They were the only 3 bowlers who bowled.
