Possibly the most constructive thing Smith has ever done on this forum. I'm in awe...

The CW XI. Retired from CW Black on 398 FC wickets I think, still remember my time there. Is it possible to make a potential Shane Warne type comeback? :p

You'd be a pretty dire bowler after so long retired, but I'm sure you'd still be able to manage at least 1 more FC wicket. :p

I'd strongly encourage you to come back as your son. It'd be great to have you back.

EDIT: 398 FC wickets. You'd need 2.

I'll definitely consider it, although it'll be a bit weird coming back as a junior player. My journeyman cricketer legacy and reputation will be no more if I come back as a junior player!

But by season XX you'd have re-established it. :p

You could return as your old self, but you'd be as bad as Daren Powell in all likelihood.

I'd probably be more inclined to come back as myself. Liam, out of interest as I've been out of the CW XI loop for so long, has anything changed significantly since I left? New teams, different league structure, different domestic and international competitions?

I really can't be bothered looking through the CW XI forums and all those posts though. Maybe just a really quick summary would be good.

I can't remember exactly what season you left. I'll check now and then I'll calculate what your stats would be if you returned. I'll also update you on all the progress.

You left after Season 9 (more recently than I thought) so you've missed just 4 seasons.

And your FC stats were really good when you left, so you're not as bad as I thought. Haven't worked out OD yet.

Bat: 17.00
SR: 53.00
Bowl: 32.56
Econ: 2.64

The Colts were around when you left, so the only big change would be the inclusion of a foreign team - Masters XI. The team is playing a holding role in the Dev League, taking the number of teams to 6 and allowing all teams to play on every match day. Masters XI is primarily comprised of foreign players who no longer represent their countries. It includes the likes of Brian Lara, Shane Warne and Lance Klusener. This team does not compete for titles and trophies but serves to provide quality opposition as experienced internationals.

CW Colts no longer play at Bellerive Oval and CW Black no longer play in Sydney. Two new grounds have been constructed - Fardin Qayyumi Cricket Centre and Pickford Reserve. Colts reside at the former and Black at the latter.

We've added a Twenty20 Cup to be played before the season and it was recently concluded. It is contested by franchises consisting of players from various Dev League clubs and a few internationals. West Robbham Rabid Wolves won the inaugural tournament. They will be joined by East Robbham Upper Body in the Champions League after the coming season.

Aside from that there have been a couple of retirements (Goff, Fitzsimmons, Halsey and a couple others) and a couple of bans (Rodgie, Jasotharan, Kexing Su). Fitzsimmons has returned as his son Bosco, while Sudeep has returned as his son, Sudeep (:p). CW XI has become a quality Test outfit after years of struggling and continues to be a very good ODI team. Pickup is an inspiration.

Ummm, I think that's about it. Oh, and CW Blue is awesome.

I would like to participate but have no clue how these things work.

I will need thorough explanation by e mail or something because I am quite dense on these things :)

:-O SJS would be awesome.

Basically, you need to signup using the signup form here.. You can use your own real life stats or just some stats that you want, it doesn't really matter.

At that point, Liam or Hakon will post your introduction in the relevant thread (located here.). At that point you will be assigned to one of the teams in the competition and from then on it's plain sailing. The new season is about to start so there will be plenty of action in the near future.

The main forum for you to check would be this one. It will have all the relevant threads needed for your sign in and then thee results of the simmed matches.

If there's anything else just ask away. Here or in the Development League forum would be fine, everyone would be willing to help you navigate and get comfortable.

I have no clue about my stats. Never kept any track.

I will put something though hoping it reflects what might be close to actual.
