March 12 - March 22, I

Roy Daniels will compete at the Indian Wells tournament (or qualifying).

Also to note, the following have been deemed inactive:

Andy Pimpkins
Hamish McSporran

A couple of warnings to Ryan Fredericks and Joe Walker, too.

And finally, a question: what are thoughts on trying for a little subforum next to Club Cricket and CricketWeb XI? It'd probably only be a signup thread, a general info (winners, etc.) thread, and one for each set of fixtures - therefore making things a bit more orderly. Or are we happy keeping it all in this forum?

I'll hold off for the Sony Ericsson Open.

Sub Forum is probably worth a shot, and will perhaps encourage more interest/activity.

Yup, would like a subforum as it more easily tells people when you can sign up again.

Indian Wells for me, I'm not even sure it's optional.

Bowenburg will make himself available for Indian Wells.

Although not selected for the Davis Cup, Bowenburg spent the time as a hitting partner for the Polish national team as his game was similar to the Brit number 1.

The result - GB 5 - Poland 0.

Think I played three tournament weeks in a row and then Davis Cup so I should probably rest this week.

Also all for a subforum and still willing to help with anything that needs to be done like stats or something similar.

Indian Wells Masters (Quals) - Mar 12-22 Season I

Indian Wells Masters
Qualifiers - Indian Wells

Draw - Sections 1, 2 and 3

Out of the four CWLanders attempting to qualify for the first part of the ATP Masters Series in Indian Wells, two managed to secure places in the main draw in an eventful couple of days in California. Billy Spleen and Rob Bowenburg were successful in their attempts to join a strong field in the main draw. Bowenburg overcame South African Adam May (6-0 7-5) and local wildcard Waylon Jones (6-4 6-3) to convincingly make it through qualifying without losing a set. It was tougher for Spleen who, after winning in straight sets against Alex Rojas in the first round, edged a three-set slog against 24th seed Robert Isaacs.

The unfortunate casualties for CWLand were Jarkko Maxum and, somewhat surprisingly, ninth seed Spas Delev. In his first round clash, Maxum found himself up against the very talented Belgian youngster Yves Parmentier who accounted for his inexperienced opponent with little trouble en route to a spot in the main draw. Delev also fell in qualifying and will be understandably frustrated with his performance - the world number 106 losing to little known Italian Massimo Prodi despite winning the first set 6-0.
