What a stunning performance! We've bossed this tournament - only dropping one set as I recall (to Jamee + Partner in the 2nd round). We've beaten three higher ranked opponents and haven't dropped a set.

A proud day for Davis (and I'm sure for El Mustardo as well) to take home some important and well deserved silverware.

Its hard to believe that the Davis/Mustard pairing has only been together for half a season. What a day, what a day. I'll go and crack open a beer. Cheers, Mustard.

A good win for Singh + Partner in the doubles too.

Hopefully you'll crack a 2nd open for me. 8-)

Absolutely stoked to get my first Grand Slam trophy. Davis & Mustard have combined very well together, and I think playing so many tournaments together has also helped. It's been a great couple of weeks for Davis with two titles. The only downside is he had to take Mustard out to get his first singles title.

Hopefully we can gain Davis Cup selection and do really well in that tournament.

You were already downing your second bottle of champagne. I didn't think you needed a beer ;)

Agree wholeheartedly. It'd be pretty hard on Drake/Korpinen if we do make Davis Cup selection ahead of them. Its good to see CWLand with some great doubles pairings in the making.

C.W. Open - Men's Singles Final
Jason Hall USA (1) vs. Oneil Stewart JAM

World No.1 Jason Hall has claimed his second Grand Slam title after accounting for Jamaica's Oneil Stewart in straight sets in the men's singles final. Stewart, who had beaten five seeds en route to his first Grand Slam final, needed a good start and largely stayed close to the American as neither man was broken in the first set. That being said, Hall created more chances on the Stewart service whilst not conceeding handing Stewart a break point, and in the first set tiebreaker he pulled clear at the most important time to take the set 7-6. From there is began to unravel for Stewart as Hall started to dominate the points both at the baseline and at the net; Stewart firing down double the unforced errors as his opponent who looked largely unaffected by his five-set slog on Thursday. In just 34 minutes he took the second set 6-2 to take what would be an unassailable two sets to love lead; Stewart unable to do the impossible as Hall secured a 7-6(6), 6-2, 6-2 victory.

Tiebreaks & Bagels

*These do not include Davis Cup, Challengers or Exhibitions.

Surprisingly, Thailand's Atthaphol Sae-ul is the marathon man at Grand Slams; he's been taken to five sets on five occasions and managed to win all of them. Not bad for a guy whose best finish is the fourth round. The worst records come from the Serbian pair Danijel Micic and Radivoj Daneu. Micic has a record of 0-3, whilst Daneu isn't much better at 1-3.

At ATP level, Carlo Amato plays the most tiebreakers; in 26 this season he has an indifferent record of 15-11. Belarus' Denis Isaev retains his spotless record of 6-0, whilst Spain's Daniel Páez Blanco has shown calmness under pressure at 14-5.

Radivoj Daneu has had more success in the bagel race than in five-set affairs; 14-0 is his record with Sven Oxenstierna just behind at 13-3. Paolo Mandonna (1-6), Ninteh Doh (1-6) and Gregor Gorshkov (2-6) have been on the receiving end of the most 0-6 losses in sets.

Awesome stats, SBI. Delighted with my maiden doubles title with Rao. Hopefully a sign of things to come...On the singles side of things, quite stoked to move into the top 150. Hopefully, I can crack the top 100 before long, and perhaps win a title with the singles as well. I'd like to keep being parternered with Rao if that's all right for doubles.

CWLand Davis Cup team named to face Germany in World Group play-off

CWLand Davis Cup captain James Nixon has announced that world No. 6 Sven Oxenstierna, world No. 12 Jefferson Drake, and CW Open champions Heath Davis and Jojo Mustard will represent CWLand in the Season I Davis Cup World Group Play-offs against Germany at the AWD Dome in Bremen, Germany.

The inclusion of Davis and Mustard came following their triumph in the CW Open final; Nixon admitting that the result played some part in the decision to include the pair ahead of Drake and his partner Martti Korpinen. "It was going to be a tough decision either way, but their win made it much easier. We wanted consistency in our selections for the singles rubbers, and having a designated doubles team allows us to do that," said Nixon. "It is tough on Martti because he and Drake have probably had the more rounded results, but Drake has played a lot of tennis and we don't want to take any chances."

He also admitted that the surface played a part in the decision: "Had this been on clay, we might have been tempted to pick [Randy] Smeltz over Drake, but we feel we've picked the best possible team to make a run at the World Group next year." As it is, Randy Smeltz will travel with the team as first reserve.

Meanwhile, German captain Luther Krause's squad includes world No. 26 Becker Haas, world No. 82 Alex Peters and doubles team Manfried Manz and Walter Schiller. Max Eisenhauer, who competed in Germany's 2-3 loss to Austria in March, has been included as a reserve.

Other Davis Cup news:

The United States have named an unchanged squad for their semifinal against Serbia at the Beogradska Arena in Belgrade, Serbia. Australian and CW Open champion Jason Hall and French Open semifinalist Dwayne will contest the singles rubbers, whilst world No. 1 doubles pair Hugh James and Ralph Robinson will contest the singles. World No. 5 and Wimbledon champion Darcy Cowan has again been named reserve.

Serbia have also named an unchanged squash with Radivoj Daneu, Danijel Micic and doubles pairing Dusko Milošević and Savo Petkoviä named alongside Srđan Ivic as an alternate. In their sensational win over Spain in July, Milošević did not appear as Daneu pulled triple duty.

In the other semifinal, Russia have overlooked 40-year old Vladimir Gryzlov in favour of dynamic Stuttgart semifinalist Gregor Gorshkov. Gryzlov has been dropped from the squad completely along with teenager Boris Denisov, as Gorshkov, Dmitry Orlov, Alexey Yarkin and Sergey Malachenko were named with Oleg Puder as hitting partner. Overachievers Austria make no change to their squad with Jurgen & Zbiginiew Boniek, Martin Reiter and Heinz Hainisch named as their starting four.

Very proud to represent the nation in the Davis Cup. Hopefully Davis & I can get a positive result in that all important 3rd rubber. Mustard also might get an opportunity if there is a dead rubber in the return singles also. Fingers crossed.
