OK guys steering this back on topic - a big update this one, which includes Bangladesh's historic series win over Zimbabwe, the VB Series in which hosts Australia beat Pakistan in the final (the tournament also involving West Indies of course) and South Africa's victory over England. So 7 out of the 11 teams involved in recent matches!
Home
Australia 1381 (+56)
Sri Lanka 1133 (-32)
South Africa 1118 (-22)
England 1085 (-33)
New Zealand 1021 (-26)
Pakistan 913 (-1)
West Indies 811 (-47)
India 830 (-17)
Zimbabwe 248 (-2)
Kenya 176
Bangladesh 118 (+54)
Not surprisingly the big gainers in the home rankings are Australia and Bangladesh. South Africa actually lost out (as did most teams, probably due to sides like Pakistan and Zimbabwe being considered weaker away form home than before), because they won the previous series against England 3-1 anyway.
Away
Australia 1557 (+24)
New Zealand 1070 (+29)
Pakistan 911 (-88)
India 981 (+17)
England 972 (+9)
South Africa 919 (+24)
Sri Lanka 840 (+23)
West Indies 678 (-14)
Zimbabwe 409 (+4)
Kenya 379 (+22)
Bangladesh 27
Again the big losers away from home are Pakistan who won 2-1 on their previous trip down under but lost 4-1 this time, a big turnaround. Most sides gain ground due to Bangladesh being stronger at home now.
Total
Australia 1469 (+40)
New Zealand 1045 (+1)
England 1028 (-11)
South Africa 1019 (+2)
Sri Lanka 986 (-5)
Pakistan 912 (-44)
India 905 (-1)
West Indies 745 (-30)
Zimbabwe 328
Kenya 278 (+12)
Bangladesh 73 (+28)
So Australia gain ground and improve to a record high 1469. Pakistan dropping away almost leaves four separate tiers, with Australia way out on their own, then NZ, England, SA and SL the best of the rest. Pakistan and India have some ground to make up and West Indies are slipping further behind everyone despite being the ICCCT winners. Bangladesh continue to make up ground on Kenya and Zimbabwe above them.
So a quick look at the upcoming games:
New Zealand v Australia (5)
South Africa v Zimbabwe (3)
Can NZ make up some ground on the leaders as the second placed team host the first placed team? Any improvement on a 4-1 defeat will help their cause! South Africa can also benefit from a sweep of their neighbours as last time it finished 2-1 so 3-0 could be good enough to put South Africa 2nd.
After that there is a good month or so until India are scheduled to play Pakistan (can one of them make up some ground on the others ahead of them?).
Hopefully the thread will continue to create active discussion...
