East Coast Fury vs Southern Stallions
at the Cricket_Web_Stadium

Gameday 3 got underway with a match between the East Coast Fury and the Southern Stallions..

The Stallions went into this game without their skipper Kyle Wright and Ben Jones who were both out due to suspension.

The game only took 3 minutes to see the opening goal, a thunerous drive from Nitin Dravid left stand-in keeper Richard Hingston with no chance and the Fury were up 1-0..

The remainder of the first half went on without alot to report, apart from a couple of fouls from Daniel Towns who was lucky to stay on the pitch..

After the break, the Fury peppered the Stallions goal with shot after shot but the Stallions repelled the danger continously. That was until the 89th minute when Kingsley Clapham put away a beautiful diving header to give the Fury a 2-0 lead..

If that wasnt bad enough for the Stallions they then had Daniel Towns sent off after a second bookable offence..

So a 2-0 win to the Fury keeps their perfect record in tact, whilst the Stallions will again have to contend with suspensions..

FINAL SCORE

East Coast Fury 2 - 0 Southern Stallions
Nitin_Dravid (3) Daniel_Towns (sent off 90)
King_Clapham (89)

Nitin_Dravid (East Coast Fury) (man of the match)
HT: 1-0

Well Played Fury!!!!!

Congrats to Dravid for picking up his first MOTM in a stellar performance. Again, top work from Hoy in the Midfield, giving us every opportunity to score goals. Was pleased to have so many shots on goal, bit dissappointed that i could only convert 1 of them though. Top keeping Hingston :)

Wow, well played Fury.

14 attempts on goal to 1

72% possession compared to 28%

Very impressive.

Selection dilemma for the Stallions now. Their best player was their back-up keeper. God knows why he was taken off after 65 mins.

Can he hold on to the job?

Northern Power vs Island Swell
at the Robbham_Arena

The Power took on the Swell in the 2nd match of the day and the crowd was in for a treat...

The opening minute signalled both sides intentions for the match, as Dave Richards put the Swell in front with a classy finish..
Six minutes later the lead was doubled as Sean Fuller took a beautiful ball from Liam Camps and slotted home the goal..

Things got even worse for the Power after 19 minutes when Myles Hutchinson scored his 3rd goal of the tournament to put the Swell up 3-0...

The Power needed something special and Mamesh gave them hope when he hit a curling shot that Jasotharan could only parry away, and Mamesh tapped it home..

Mamesh wasnt done their though, as he pulled another one back when he hit a sweet volley from a Gundry free kick to get the Power back to just 1 down..

It only took 2 minutes after the break for the game be all level again..
Neil Pickup who has had some problems with back passes in the tournament again found trouble as he sent one back to Jasotharan who slipped and the ball found the back of the net.. Suddenly it was game on...

Both teams had their chances and in the 65th minute Pickups game got worse as he was sent off for a second yellow.. This gave the Power the upper hand..

The power had plenty of opportunities and in the 87th minute they picked up the winner..
David Comley with a well placed header sealed the game as the celebrations ran wild..

Haha. How do you throw a 3-0 lead away?

EDIT: I suppose playing just 2 defenders helps.

How is it possible I can play 2 games and fail to score? Rhetorical question people.

Hmm, interesting. Not a bad result but we were certainly outplayed. I was very interested to see how playing that formation away from home would work.

Good to see we came close to winning an away game using vanilla (ie normal) tactics when up against a tactic (passing) that carrys bonuses against normal.
