International Regular
gutted to be sent off in such a short period of time after I, apparently, was dominating the game.

Rumour has it that the referee was bought out ;)

Seriously though, I apologise to my team mates for my erratic behaviour.... and i'm sure this won't be the last apology I will be making in the times to come.

Dissappointing Loss for the Fury. I'm sure the ref was against us

Seems as if it was a pretty poor game allround though, very few attempts on goal. Lets pick it up next game East Coast, we want that final spot!!
i reckon that ref was totally against us cause of our "awesome" skills and that was a bull**** call he dived :@

Central United vs Southern Stallions
at the Twybridge Road

Central United hosted the Southern Stallions in a game both sides had to win to keep alive hopes of winning the pre-season cup..

The Stallions had the dream start to the game when Madondo rifled a shot passed United keeper Zac Ritchie to put the visitors 1 up after only 1 minute of play..

Both sides were throwing everything into it and the Yellow cards were starting to mount, and after 18 minutes Ritchie cut down Reuben Verghese which seen him pick up a yellow but more importantly seen the Stallions awarded a penalty..
Madondo stepped up and slotted home his second and the Stallions were flying at 2-0..

The Stallions continued to dominate however in injury time of the 1st half Daniel Smith produced a pearler of a goal to give his side a sniff going into the break..

After the break both sides came out hard again, and in the 60th minute things were level again after Smith slotted home a penalty after Crampton was called for holding back an opponent..

Minutes later Tarick Weber was red carded after a moment of madness, headbutting Reuben Verghese, the second such instance from a United player in 2 games..

Minutes after Daniel Towns earnt himself his second Red of the tournament with his 2nd booking and both sides were down to 10 and in desperate need of a winner...

Both sides had chances and it was United who got the winner through Samir Louadj when he chipped Stallions Keeper Richard Hingston..

A Late penalty should have sealed it for Central but unbelievably referee Roberto Rosetti gave the free kick to the Stallions in what was one of many questionable decisions throughout the game..

Central jump to the top of Group A but have completed all their group games. They now await the result of the East Coast-Stallions game to see if they will playoff for the title..

Western Dynamo vs Island Swell
at the Pickford Park

Fans who travelled to Pickford Park to watch the Dynamo take on the Swell would have left satisfied with the game they seen even if though their side didnt come away with the points...

Celestino put the Swell in front in the opening minute with a shot that cannoned in off the post after a brilliant run fron halfway.

Only minutes later Borcic was Penalised for Diving and David Kennett slotted it home from the spot to level things up at 1-1..

After 16 minutes the home side was in front after Kennett hit a bender from long range that left Jasotharan with no hope..

After 35 minutes Kevin Gough broke his goal drought when he neatly chipped the wall from a free kick to bring things back to 2-2..

After the break both teams look subdued and struggled to gain any momentum. That was until the 73rd minute when the floodgates opened again..

First it was Nayak who put the Dynamo in front, then 3 minutes later Dave Richards levelled things up again..

With 9 minutes left in normal time Matt Luff hit a screamer into the top corner to give the Swell the lead for the 1st time since the 6th minute, and when Kev Gough scored his second in injury time the Swell had secured a great win and one that almost certainly will see them in the final of the pre-season cup..

Excellent result away from home for The Swell. We just about outplayed them on their own patch

Good to see a the new tactics went well and more importantly no injuries or suspensions.

Looking forward to the game against The Power

Ah crap.

We need the Power to win by 2 goals.

Unlucky guys, we played very well for periods, we just couldn't hold the dominance for the whole game.

BARNES OUT
Feels great to be winning games after a horror start to the Pre-season, and to be performing well is a bonus. Dissapointing to see yet another one of my team missing for a game, though.
