Love this pic of Bradman, taken in the nets in Perth on his way to England in 1930 (caption says 1932 but I have read it was taken on the way to the UK for his first tour). Completely uninhibited. He's slightly cleared his front leg, and I suspect the ball may end up in orbit.

Although the cameras back then were prehistoric, I'd imagine (from that photo and from many other pieces of anecdotal evidence) his bat speed was so, so quick

You can clearly see his special top hand grip in this photo that I read so much about growing up. I tried to copy that grip for one season. I did great that year, Then gave it away for some reason.

It is quite hard to play through the off side with his grip you can do it - but leg side play is a doddle.
