My personal (not being much of an artsy type either) view would be that the dark blue bits are a little too dark, the contrast with the now much lighter background colours makes them almost look black, other than that I think the new look is nice and crisp.
Iam not sure where I stand on that I don't have much of a problem with the dark blue, but I do think there is a case for following over the new dark blue colour from the main site to keep everything matching, and the slightly lighter colour might fit in better.Scaly piscine said:

I meant, instead of the buttons like "Reply" or "Quote" or similar which have yellow text, we could change the text colour to orange. Maybe James could make the ads at the top have a nice orange background, would probley be the only spot at the mo.

if u look at the result in a poll in new skin the dark color is not easly identifiable which show the number of votes polled. u could make it white or may be orange

Mind you there was alot more negative response from the last design when launched with all those funny new bold colours and you all come to love it
