8-) Baseball is a great game. You've just admitted you don't even follow baseball, so how about you stop trashing it.

My favorite sports:

  1. NFL & Cricket
  2. NBA
  3. NHL
  4. College Football
  5. MLB
  6. College Basketball

Yea, I'm a sports nut.

I probably goto 50-70 sporting events a year.

I'm sorry.

Also as a bowler, it's much more crucial to know the batsman weakness, where as in Baseball you have to bowl in an imaginary box, with a variety of different deliveries.

Also the pitch and conditions, which barely mean anything in baseball.
agreed again, in my view, i have had these discussions before.. cricket is just so so much better and there are many reasons.. but i shouldn't rubbish a sport i don't watch much :)

But a fielding error is so much more costly in baseball. Generally speaking, fielding is far more superior in baseball. So are the overall levels of fitness.

I obviously love cricket much more, but lets not trash other sports. To say playing baseball doesn't involve thinking is pretty inane.

u cant possibly drop a catch with that glove in ur hand

ive played enough baseball, and really its impossible to drop catches with the glove, it makes it soooooooooooo easy

i must say though its not easy being a shortstop and ur throw to first or second base must be bang on target
but feilding in cricket overall is harder

You aren't the only sports nut. I enjoy NFL, NBA, Crcket, College Hoops and College Football. I went to a few Rutgers football games because my cousin is in Rutgers(NB Campus) but I have never been to a college basketball game. I've been to so many NBA games over the years. Usually end up going to 10-15 Knicks game, a few Nets game, and every now and then a Celtics or a Sixers game. Only been to two NFL games in my life, both were Jets v Falcons. And like I said before I went to a game where guys use gloves to catch the ball because they are afraid it will hurt them.

you two arent the only sport nuts

i play and follow basetkball, cricket and football like anyone
i also watch alot of NFL, i stoped watching baseball 3 years ago but i watch the playoffs
used to play alot of hockey and was obssesed with the nhl, but i TOTALLY stoped watching or playing hockey, like i dont even watch a single game a year now
i watch big games in the english premiere leauge and the spanish leaugue

i play basketball and cricket ALOT

dont really follow college sports taht much, sometimes i watch the NCAA final 4 basketball but thas bou ti

Actually, TBH, catching in Baseball is not as easy as it seams. The pros make it look like that but it isn't. I've played baseball at a very competitive level (Rep), and no it isn't that easy. Especially if you take the grass, infield, and wind into consideration! When a person throws a baseball to you, it is very easy to judge it, but not when it comes off the bat. I usually play outfield, and being over 140 feet away from the batter, I find it very hard at times to judge the ball when it coming at an angle. I am not saying that it is easier to catch a ball in baseball than it is to in cricket, I am just saying it's not as easy as a lot might think.

Still they are little girls for using gloves.

i think it was called the baseball classic or something, i remember watching it
the finals was between puerto rica and cubans

puerto rica has like the best players in mlb, carlos beltran, albert pujos jus tot name a few

no jap won it i dont remember who they were playing but in their 1st classic they had more crowd(attendance) than the cricket world cups...there is the baseball world cup but no one really likes that so i think thats going to get scrapped and the classic already put baseball a head of cricket world cup and is probably the 1st step for it to take over gobally:(

catching is far more superior in cricket...besides from diving for a catch which happens in both sports...theres no sliding to stop the boundary in baseball...although the catching of the ball that is going over the wall is hard...

Again, World Cup 2011 will own every single sporting event. Cricket is never going to be taken over by baseball.

It's probably true.

However, when reading those figures, consider that the world baseball classic was held in 6-7 different countries to get home crowd in. Crowds were pretty low for neutral games.
no the semifinal and finals were all sold out even though it was neutral grounds(USA which was out 2nd round)...sold out something you dont hear much about it cricket....may be cricket should not be held at neutral grounds? i mean even the 2012 world cup will be a disaster if say india gets out early in the tournament...because indians are only crazy about indian cricket...although if the finals are hosted in bangladesh (which aint going to happen) there will be crowds because almost every person there has a 2nd fav team which they follow alot because they know bangladesh wont make it...but why does cricket world cup have to be in neutral grounds?(only thing i can think of is players adjusting to the conditions but they are pros they should adjust and even if they dont that means some unpredictable results which is the why sports are played)

You don't understand the fact that Baseball only sells more tickets because you can go to the game and be home in 3 hours. Yet, when it comes to the terms of being followed and watching it on TV, Cricket will always own, no matter how long the game is.

The detroit pistons sold more than 1 million tickets for home games last season, yet is basketball anywhere near as popular as Cricket?

well said, 100% agreed... i think cricket has way more to think about..also conditions in cricket vary quite a lot
I said baseball has more thinking than 20/20 cricket, not 'cricket' in general.

no probably not still there's still lot to think in 20/20 for the captains who to let into the bowling attack and who not to and fielding setting too where as baseball the manager only have to think if he should replace the pitcher after 100+ pitches and when to tell a player to bunt players in baseball dont have to think much except for the pitcher well theres the same thing in for a bowler to either to bowl it short full in the middle swing etc and batsman still have to select a shot even if its sloging....its the manager who does the thinking in baseball and players/captains who does it in 20/20 and the other two forms....
