Boys through to the semis of the reps again this year after a decent win over St George yesterday. Not a bad game tbh, a couple of the St George kids looked very good with the bat. Young bloke missed out, played over a low full one from an offie. Was seriously pissed off at himself, but you can't get them every week.

Think they have Blacktown next week, again at home. Should be a good game, we beat them earlier int h season but it was a tight contest.

Bollocks.

I don't care if the next 10 tests in India are won by the side batting first..........it is not the fault of the wickets, it's because the team that batted second wasn't good enough.

Yes winning the toss can be a big advantage, as it is at Adelaide and Lords and many other grounds around the world. But good teams do not get beaten at the toss.
That is a bit Bollocks too. If results show a substantial bias for first innings' determining games, then it doesn't matter whether you say good teams win everywhere, the result is biased against skill. That is not good and makes for crappy cricket.

I'm not defending that Indian pitches are crap. The same logic applies for all pitch types.

India has won so many tosses in recent times though. And everybody follows the dictum of win the toss and bat first. Because everybody is a home ground bully these days, we tend to win a majority of the games. That will just skew the statistics and make it look like the toss was playing a part. Basically you find wins correlated to the thing you measure.

Random clip Rob posted of Boonie facing Walsh in the 1995 series. Just love it for Boonie's unflappable demeanour despite the ball going all over the place.

Same story then. Green wicket, mediocre medium pacers nip out all the wickets on the first day, pitch flattens out, runs are scored and it doesn't deteriorate because od the grass.

As some of you know, two years ago I worked overseas for about half of the year

This included being away for the England V Sri Lanka series and the first two tests against India (note the variance in results with me in and out of the country btw)

I couldn't watch any Test Cricket as Virgin Anywhere didn't provide access to sky sports channels until later in the year. I distinctly remember hearing the Anderson and Root partnership on TMS, and catching bits and pieces on YouTube etc as the months went by

What I had never seen until just now, though, stumbled upon as you do via something else on YouTube, is below

Pure gold. I thinkk that's the first time I can honestly say I've seen a test cricketer bowl as poorly as I do. Genius.

With a bit of work he could be a handy part time seamer tbf.

That said, I expected more of his celebration. Clearly no Mark Richardson

Should stay away from England for longer periods, IMO.
