Cricket for the Olympics?

Its pretty good idea imho... as been said, it will only give cricket more exposure. Countries which haven't heard much about cricket will get a chance to see it... can only be good for the game.

Not Terrible
There are advantages and disavantages to this idea.

The advantages
The Olympics is world-wide so it could result in more countrys getting into the game, Also having this idea could produce more talented players, and of course i love watching any old cricket.

Disadvantages
How long have u got? Most of the players that do go into the olympics will not be profesionals. As a lot of players have to work all year round, And as cricket is really only popular to about 12 countries there might actually not many countries entering the competiton.Venues.Countries that host into the olympics might not actaully like the sport so they might not have any venues.
It wouldn't be a last minute thing, pitche of whatever quality would be prepared for it, and also a lot of events only draw competition from certain countries, yet I feel that every country that plays cricket would send a team eventually far outside the test playing world, anything that expands the cricket playing world in whatever form is good IMO.

The problem of time I think could be worked out, the professional schedule would include the games, think of the publicity and the money it could bring to cricket, the potential audience.

They'd make it work.

Its just whether the Olympic committee wants it or not.

I'd like it in the olympics and I understand that Twenty20 is the more appealing format, but if I were to see cricket in the olympics, I would be wishing for the 50 over game. Not going to happen, though. So I will shut my mouth/amputate my typing fingers.

I think it would kind of cheapen things to see 20 over cricket at the games. I reckon the Olympics should be reserved for sports in their truest form, and for cricket that means 5 day games, which would be impossible for obvious reasons.
It would be like them playing rugby sevensfor me, just dosent generate the same intensity
