Just occurred to me that had Zaremba been playing he could have got an entire Sussex squad this way - filled it up with brothers who's played for the county.
The other thing I meant to mention about Micky Stewart is that he prevented Henry Blofeld from becoming perhaps the most unlikely Test player ever. On a tour of India in 1963-64 he rose from his sickbed to take his place in the starting line-up when Blofeld, accompanying the team as a journalist, was being lined up to play. Stewart took no part in the match after tea on the first day. I'm sure that Blowers, sticking to his diet of cake and champers, would have made it through the game.
