I enjoyed Cricket my Destiny but have not read his other efforts, I think they are ghostedWhat do think of those books which bear Hammond's name as author? And, more importantly, did he actually write them? I thoroughly enjoyed both Cricket My Destiny and Cricket My World.
Cricket My Destiny, Cricket My World, Cricket's Secret History and Cricketer's School were all ghosted by one Frank Stuart a man about whom I know absolutely zipI enjoyed Cricket my Destiny but have not read his other efforts, I think they are ghosted
My views exactly. It is tedious reading as any university thesis would be for non-academicians.Nice review of "Challenging The Myth" by the way. I read it a few years ago, and agree that it is someone's university masters thesis rather than a genuine book (not denigrating university work, but it was clearly written for a specialist market and not mass consumption).

Go for it.Am I allowed to post a link in here to a serialised excerpt of Marcus Trescothick's autobiography?
I've found what he revealed about his illness to be quite immense.
Why should academics find it 'tedious'? They read pretty sterile stuff most of the times - don't they ?Or for academics actually
Now I am certainly buying your book and may even come to your country to get it personally signed by you.Tedious is tedious. Academic writing should be full of wit and sparkle, and not dry and dusty.
At least, that's the line I am going to take with my examiners
I have been taken to task more than once in my first year at uni for not being dry, academic and -- I kid thee not -- "verbose" enough. Among the many things that tertiary education has endeavoured to teach me thus far is that "appropriate" is a better word than "apt".Tedious is tedious. I agree. 'Appropriate' is more apt.I have been taken to task more than once in my first year at uni for not being dry, academic and -- I kid thee not -- "verbose" enough.
