I'll see what I can do. I can also review Bothams Autobio if you want one?
That would be most appreciatedI'll see what I can do. I can also review Bothams Autobio if you want one?
It might be a tricky one to review, but I'm currently bidding for a 1964 Wisden on a well-known Internet auction site. The only significance of this is if I get it I will have a complete lifetime set.
Wow.. awesome Archie. I just have the millenium edition plus the last three.Something to be proud of, mine only goes back to 1953
Ah I see, still not a bad effortIt'll be a lifetime set - an edition for each year of my life - it doesn't go back as far as that.
I do know someone with a complete set though.
It gets easier as you get older (more money), but the way things go: someone gives you say a 1998 Wisden, so you suddenly 'have to' collect all the ones from 1998 up to the start of your collection, and so it goes.Wow.. awesome Archie. I just have the millenium edition plus the last three.
Younger then the Waugh twinsHehe.
How old are you Archie?
Mark; easilyAt least you can match them where cricket knowledge and passion are concerned.
A review pleaseJust finished Roy: Going for Broke inside 2 days, decent read, recommend it.
Yes I was a little let down by the Sobers bio. The same fellow ghosted Viv Richards and that was a lot better I thought, but G. Haigh slammed that one.Just finished Garry Sobers' imaginatively titled "My Autobiography". Slightly disappointing actually, not as snappy as his books from during his career, eg King Cricket, etc. It was actually a bit wafflely and repetitive in sections. But still, its great to read about the life and times of one of the true all-time greats, and it did deal with something of the man behind the cricket stats. Love to see how a modern team manager would deal with a captain who stayed out at the casino til 3am every night of a test match!
And Archie - that's as long a review as I have time for right now!
Getting into Perry's "Miller's Luck" now.
I much prefered the Atherton one, I thought Nasser repeated himself too much "I did it all for my dad"Anyone read Nasser and Athers autobiographies?.I thought that they were quite a good read.
LOL that's what I was thinking .And how he used to get up in the middle of the night to get a feeling of his batI much prefered the Atherton one, I thought Nasser repeated himself too much "I did it all for my dad"
"everything I achieved was for my father"
"I always tried to please my dad"
etc, etc, etc,
