Countdown to Pant breaking the record for most dismissals in the 90s in tests

After only 55 innings, Pant has already been dismissed in the 90s 6 times. That already puts him joint 5th on the list of batsmen with most 90s.

Tendulkar has the record with 10, Slater second with 9 (with only 14 tons). If Pant were to keep getting to the 90s and getting out at the same rate and had a career as long as Tendulkar's, he'd end up with 36 dismissals in the 90s.

He'll probably break the record by 2024 end.

... I also noticed Pant has belted around quite a few sixes in his relatively short career (33 tests) and was surprised to see he's already hit 55 sixes.

Currently he's 'only' 52 sixes away from Stokes who undoubtedly will add more but given the fact he just made his test debut in 2018 he is pretty much on track to not only catch Stokes but really set the bar and make it his own record of possibly 150 sixes by the time he's done.

Tendulkar 28 times out in 90's in Int'L

ST never play t20i but he was out 18 times in 90's in ODI & 10 times in 90's in test

Pant 5 century & dismissed in 90 as many as 6th time > nervous 90's

Nz's stephen Flemmings only player dismissed in 90's in his debut test & debut ODI

Well...let's just hope he's in right mental frame to play a sport after he recovers from that horrific incident.

Dr. Says "18 months more" with everything.

Ponting wants him to be there during IPL Delhi's 1st game to inspire his team.

I do not think he can play World cup 2023 in Oct, 2023 (india)

I don't think he should play this world cup even if he recovers physically. Take this year out and play some domestic matches, and then start for India again from next year.

He loves and breathes cricket. As long as he recovers fully, he will be fine.
You really can't say this with any confidence. No one, not least the person themselves, truly knows what the long-term psychological effects of such a traumatic event will be. Maybe he'll be completely back to his old self and there are no long term mental effects. Maybe there will, and it's no fault on him if there are. No one truly knows.

Yes, I have been involved in an accident once and I didn't take the car for close to 6 months after that as the incident kept playing in my mind.
