Christine Amertil of Bahamas cruises to victory in 52.10 in the first heat of the women's 400....

Botswana's Montsho was a comfortable winner of the second heat, but Pompey of Guyana also looked untroubled in second.

Jamaica's Davita Prendagast scrapes thru in fourth. Master Blaster Viv Richards is in the stands watching this....

Another Nigerian, Abugan, easily won the third heat in 52.42, with Grenada's Trish Bartholomew third and jamaica's Dominique Blake fourth.

MLF wins his second round heat in 10.20 ahead of Zakari 10.27, with Griffiths of Bahamas dipping to edge local favourite Qureshi, both timing 10.30....

Oshane Bailey looked very good in winning his second round race in 10.12! And there's still more in the tank....

Oghoghene won in 10.13, and Callendar (10.18) and McKenzie (10.40) made it thru in second and third, but not their most convincing performances....

Clarke easily clocks 10.19 to win the final second round heat, ahead of Armstrong.

Can your kids run under 10.2 seconds? You really do talk a lot of rubbish....

Lachie Turner does the 100 in 11.10, so maybe your kids would have a better chance of beating that slow Aussie.

Bahamians dominated the 400 heats....

Conrad Williams of England wins the first heat of the 400 in 45.78, with Bahamaian Michael Mathieu coming in second in 46.22....

Another Bahamaian, Ramon Miller, comfortably won the second heat in 46.12. And a third, Anretti Bain, wins the third in 46.20.

Jamaica's Oral Thompson wins the fourth heat in 46.60, with Trinidad's Gordon struggling to come in third. A good run by Dominica's Erison Hurtault to win the final heat in 46.50.

Natasha Myers of St Vincent won her 100 semi in 11.38, followed by Endicott of England. Trinidad's Hutchinson looked to be struggling.

Harrigan of the BVI could only manage fourth in the second heat in 11.51, and could miss out.

Men's 100 semis....

Aaron Armstrong of Trinidad and Lerone Clarke of Jamaica both ran 10.14 to qualify easily from the first semi. Griffiths of the Bahamas finished sixth....

Emmanuel Callender, the other Trini, who the second semi in 10.14, but it was a disaster for the two Jamaicans. Ramone McKenzie did not start, and Oshane Bailey pulled up towards the end, finishing in 10.20. Bailey qualifies as a fastest loser, but will he be fit to run in the final?

My kids can certainly run under 10.2 seconds...whatever height that is...

Yes he's a full second slower, nut since we are doing this on a weight scale all other runners need to carry 10kg weights on them to nullify the distinct weight disadvantage turner carries

What a commotion in the Women's 100m. A shallow gold, watching, because both Sally Pearson and Laura Turner shouldn't have been racing.
