Combining ODI and Test records, who are the 5 greatest cricketers ever?

Lara, Punter, De Villiers, Garner, Wasim, Hadlee etc are all good shouts too I feel. Also depends on how much weightage you give to each format

Obviously more weight to tests (65-25-10 or something like that; putting aside the FC greats). Marshall is also a great shout. Would rate bunch of others ahead of Ponting.

In ODIs he wasn’t a great wicket taker but if you won’t to stop runs, he will be at the very top

The gap between them in ODIs dwarfs the gap between them in Tests, Garner was elite at both, Marshall wasn’t.

Imran underrated in ODIs but yes Akram has a worthy case too.

Yeah Wasim was a lock for a top 5 ODI cricketer.
Imran better in tests but it's really tough and go.

Even though Viv is a better ODI cricketer, giving more weightage to tests would make it Tendulkar as the best.

Imran’s record is not that great in ODI cricket.
A bowling average of 26 and a strike rate of 72 is not really that impressive.
