Well, Marcus Trescothick for one, in a first class game rather than a Twenty20 knockabout to boot.

Which kind of messes your bonfire up somewhat.

Didnt alok kapali cause australia some problems in the world cup semi finals of 2003?
alok kapali is from b'desh.
i think the bowler who you are referring to is asif karim, and it didnt happen in the semi finals, it happened in the super six, kenya of course played india in the semis.

I cannot possibly agree to Michael Clarke's hat trick being accepted and recorded in any way, shape or form. It creates an anomaly in the statistics, and certainly doesn't show whether he got the batsmen out with good balls, or it was poor shot selection.

It's crazy and misleading figures like this that ruin the sheer pleasure of following cricket statistics.

Indeed.

In fact, most recording of cricket statistics promotes this misleading acceptance of anomalies in a similar fashion. I propose that all batsmen and all bowlers be given an average of 30 and left there throughout their career so as to avoid confusion and misleading use of events such as runs being scored or wickets being taken.

This will ensure that a) nobody can falsely claim that a player is "good" simply because they "score a lot of runs" or "take a lot of wickets", when in fact they did not deserve these runs and wickets, and b) that all players can be shown with statistical evidence to be equally mediocre in all respects and therefore equally deserving of our contempt and derision.

Brad Hodge loves English wickets and is there if the Pup fails.
He loves English outfields too

<quack> and boundaries

and the bit outside them

<quack> that's why he crosses the ropes

carrying the ball

<quack> and claims the catch, the cheat.

DD, I think we'd make a good double

<quack> act

He's certainly developing something of a golden arm. Hopefully he can develop further into a Darren Lehmann/Sanath Jayasuria sort of bowler.
Rubbish?

<quack> I thought this thread was about Clarke's hat-trick, but I don't think Rikki's ever taken one.

The word I had in mind was closer to something like... "handy".

I'm happy enough, "Pup" seemed nice enough yesterday at Grace Road, I got his autograph :).

Now just go and get his for 100 off 10 overs by Freddy and KPP or something.

Whoops, I forgot the voiceover on that post:

"Attention - the part of Richard will tonight be played by Voltman"
That explains the "McGrath! Poor strokes! 499 POOR STROKES!" in the nearby retirement village.

:D

It's probably nearer 127 poor strokes.

EDIT: Tim, you really, REALLY should do yourself some reading up on the situation, to save yourself from such gross misunderstandings again.
