Greig, won lots of games, and that's all that matters in Cricket at the end of the day.

haven't we talked about this before? I cut him longevity points but Cairns was injured half the year so he doesn't get much longevity points either
Yeah, but Greig played for only 5 years and he averaged 28 with the bat in non Test FC matches.....

Yeah but there have been people who grossly overachieved in Test class IE Ken Barrington for one, I don't know how the rest of his career would've turned out, what little he had, he won multiple games in India and West Indies, and was a driving force behind many Ashes wins, a lot of people would kill for a career like that

Certain kumar Sangakkara too. Averaged 44 in FC excluding tests, 57 in tests.

Barrington played Tests for over a decade. Greig did pretty good in the Tests he played in, but they were in an extremely short window at his peak. In situations like this I look for the FC numbers, and a 1.5x jump in career batting average from FC to Test over a complete career..... I ain't betting on that.
