Nicholas Pooran out of the tournament with injury, Jason Holder's batting talent has been acknowledged by the betting agencies, so my interest in this particular CPL has taken a hit.

You can help me choose which of the mistakes below I should put some money on though. Walton was opening with Gayle in this last year, but I think we'd all agree Blackwood is going to be much better than his current T20 stats suggest.

Jayawardene most likely and Russell possibly but the odds are far too short with Gayle in the team.

Split a bet between Jayawardene and Gayle?

Blackwood's odi history is pretty dire to match his T20. Thinks he prefers leaving the ball wide of off but not so wide as to thrash.

Nah I took Walton. A bet on an opener at $15 was too good to ignore.

A pity I can't check out of the bet now he's being quoted at $4.75 though tbh.

I fear with Gayle and Jayawardene in the side coupled with Chadwick's numbers you may have thrown your money away.

Whats Dwayne Smith paying for leading tournament run scorer?

Gayle, Pieterson and Kallis should be pushing his price up.

Smith's odds would have shortened today.

I reckon he'd be a good bet because he doesn't look to smash it early on. He's quite conservative and accumulates first.

Scrap that - just looked at Gayle's IPL stats, he is all over Smith.

CPL has become my second favourite T20 behind Big Bash. Excellent atmosphere , coupled with some top T20 players on show. I hate the fact that they have a female commmentator for the sake of it, but apart from that it's a good viewing. I also like the fact that squads are consistent from one year to the next (no wholesale changes).

Dislike Kevin Pieterson? Think he is a smug entitled so and so?

Even if you did, you would have felt sorry for him having to bat with Ross "I'l bat through and take no risks, all up to you" Taylor. :-O

Watched a game featuring Guyana and T&T on the weekend, and Darren Bishoo looked awesome. Ball after ball looped up outside leg before fizzing past off stump. The middle-lower order had no clue, and it looked briefly like Guyana were going to steal it when going into the last 5 overs T&T needed about 20 runs with 7 wickets in hand. Yes Bishoo ****ed it up in the end by bowling a no-ball when T&T needed two to win off the last two balls (the subsequent free hit was duly belted for 6), but the control he showed was really eye-catching from the pov of a supporter who's had to follow Ish Sodhi and Mark Craig over the last 2 years.
