Buying a new cricket bat

Is it true that many of the Indian/Pakistani Bats are made by one large company and just have different labels on them? i.e. M.R.F is a tyre making company, surely sombody else makes the bats and then they just make the stickers for them?

hello new to the board.

this is a bit of topic but it is fun to do.

my dad and I had a go at making a couple of bats a few years ago, ofcourse not to play competitively with but just for fun to see how they turned out for playing with at a park or hitting the ball in the back garden.

they worked pretty good.

Yes, pretty much.

GM Purist was awesome for a season, the top-order phenom in my club kept asking if he could use it. That died in practice. SS Ton Viru now, looking very good and suits my straight-bat, off-side style quite well.
