Cricketer Of The Year
Season Opener
Well the div 3 league got underway today with a very interesting round we have witnessed so far. with newly created Cricket web Football Club amongst the games today, we caught up with player/ manager rob malone and we asked him a few questions:
how you think you going to go this year bugs : yer we have alot of young players this year with i think myself the oldest at 27, but as for a willing to play the boys have everything. a very keen bunch of blokes who said in 3 years cwfc will be in div 1.
How did the pre season go! yer it was really good, we have a great depth here at the club with alot of players coming across and are all keen to make the first 11 so we rotated the squad for 6 games, and there was so many good performances with all taking there opportunity with both hands. it will be a good season with everyone fighting for positions, i just hope they all dont get too dissappointed if they miss one here or there or sit on the bench.
The defense looks the goods. yer we have too quality keepers in CBUTS & JAMEE999 and the back 4 + dmc they have really gotten together and worked hard and it shows in our results with not too many shots at goal being offered. the defenders have had a great off season and pre season and one stand out has been Kears who has really stood out.
midfielders and strikers we have some great players up front which can pretty much hit teh target from just about any where, which we seen in the latter stages of the friendlys. Broncoman, Blewy, Nnanden, Ash Chualk, Mr Ponting, Dark Hunter and all the boys really have shown, one of our friendlys we won 6 - 0 and it was total domination not just shhooting and defending but passing , tackling etc we really pride ourselves high on the complete game.
You seem to be scoring goals as well which is handy! yer mate i try to push up as much as i can and i encourage all the backs to do so with a few of the defenders scoring and or setting up. mate i am happy with teh way i am travelling with a couple of goals and a man of the match but it wouldnt be possible with out the other 23 blokes in the side so.
well thanks bugs lets get onto the games for the season round 1 opening round.
Game 1 v Bury saturday the 9th of august 2003
In front of 12303 people it was a total domination by the CWFC WITH A 6 - 0 victory. In total control from the start of the whistle the new commers looked like they had played this level for years. They dominated midfield, and up front with the opposition not getting a single shot of at goal.
here are some match highlights.
4th minute: good move by blewy down the left hand side, bronco cross's in but blewys shot goes over the cross bar.
8th minute: bronco dribles past a few, pass to blewy who shoots but his shots goes wide and high.
11th minute : Goal blewy hit a good shoot wand the keeper had no idea, or chance of getting to that one.
37th minute Nnanden with a good move, offloads to blewy, who shoots and puts it away Goal blewy has nnanden to thank for that one. cwfc up 2- 0
44th minute 2 shots by blewy and kears could have had the score at 3 - 0 however the post stopping both shots.
Half Time
one sub made by cwfc with bugs jnr being replaced by x rose
44th minute Dark Hunter scores a good goal heading passed the keeper finishing of a good move by the team, which started over on the right with bugs who found kears who found bronco then off to hunter who put it in the back of the net. Goal 3 - 0
53rd minute Marc Robbins on to replace Dark Hunter
66th minute the score was nearly 4 - 0 with a volley from dmc bugs that was kept out by the post.
67th minute Marc Robbins drills one passed the keeper who had no chance just outside the 6 yard box Goal 4 - 0 cwfc on fire
76th minute Mr Ponting on for Nnanden. Ash Chualk moves to the left hand side with ponting onto the right hand side midfield.
79th minute Bugs with one of his banana shots which curled in from outsie the near post and beat the keeper Goal and thats 5 - 0 . what a start by th cwfc boys, who would have thought these young blokes would do this on the 1st day of the premiership.
86th minute Penalty Goal bugs puts it passed the keeper to score a double and move it along to 6 - 0
90th minute. 4 minutes of extra time added on.
94.02 minute and the referee looks at the watch and blows full time.
a massive win for the boys in there maiden div 3 game with bury just no match for the young keen kids.
