British sports personality of the year

That really just shows what a complete joke our media is over here. Panesar did moderately well in a few Test matches and yet appears to be in almost every list. Jenson Button won one race, yet he gets nominations too. Murray won one title too. Wow. This is a high benchmark we're setting for British sportsmen/women. 8-)
The Daily Record nominated Sven-Goran Eriksson and Wales on Sunday put Brian Noble. WTF?
If a soccer player had done half of what Wellens has this year, they'd already be putting his name on the trophy. **** I hate the media.

Some of the nominations for SP just confirm what a diabolical year it has been for English sport.. Panesar would be an horrific choice

Whoever this rugby league fellow is, well great, but I'm afraid he's unlikely to win because the ignorant south don't have a clue about rugby league, and to be quite honest, don't care about it in the slightest..

Rugby What?
So frustrating, it could be such a fine game..

I love the way some hard nut puts in an absolutely crunching tackle, and then they all get up off the floor and let the opposition continue their posession

The only reason Darren Clarke is on that list is because of a sympathy vote ffs.
Yes but its a better reason then most of the under-achieving twonks.

Who are the faves otherwise, Zara Phillips, despite the fact I'd **** her, apparently all shes done is steer the best horse over a lot of sticks in an over-privelleged sport.

Darts, pub sport. Andy Murray, obnoxious git who did nowt in majors this year. Boxers, which of the fifty belts did they win to become world champion for their 70 weights. Monty, a wheely bin got picked ahead of him. The rest of 'em I haven't heard of.

Terrible year for British sport, might as well be Clarke IMO

I've got no problem with a golfer winning it if they deserve to, but if he gets it just because his wife died, that's what annoys me. All respect to him for playing on and such, however.

Clarke was on the radio the other day stating that he doesn't want the sympathy vote. He'll still run away with it though.

Marianne Vos is Dutch.
Nicole Cook won the points thing over the season, far more impressive than winning a one stage race in Salzburg.

The last two words of your sentence are the best rebuttal I can offer really.
Severely underrated sport, easily the most physically enduring out of anyone on the list.
