You might also have other reasons to choose Ganguly.

Yes because he never played them...... Unlike Sobers. He also played 4 Tests only.

I haven't seen anyone include these two in odi xis.Both have not scored a single run in odi cricket. Only once has sobers batted in an odi and scored a duck.

I don't think anyone does Barry in an ODI XI, as he wasn't even capped. But the qualifier is having an ODI cap, so I think Sobers qualifies. And I believe he will do better than any possible WI allrounder. The Barry example was because he is regularly included in SA Test XIs, with only 4 Tests under belt.

Garry played quite a few list A matches as well. Averaged 38 with the bat and 22 with the ball.

Sobers have played 95 List As. 38 with bat, 22 with ball. And also like comeon, the type of batsman Sobers was he would cherish ODIs, as well as being extremely useful with his versatile bowling. I will bet on him being a better ODI player than Barry a Test one.

All thanks to the addition of Rohit, Kohli, Bumrah and Shami from the current generation. Previously Pakistan would have beaten Indian ODI XI comfortably.

Openers : India is better, Middle Order : India is better, Wicket Keeper : India is better, Spinners : India is better, Fast Bowlers : Pakistan is better. India is going with 8 Batsman and 8 Bowlers, Pakistan is going with 9 Batsman and 6 Bowlers. Both look very much Balanced with slight edge for India.
