Sachin is out of cricket for eight weeks due to a shoulder injury. He is expected to go to London where Dr Wallace will operate upon him. Accordingly he is not to play in the ODI series against England.

Its not encouraging is it - its been a long time now since he's been fully fit and in any kind of form, which is everyone's loss

Very very true...the sad and intransient nature of sport..

Oh dear this is terrible. He's had so many injuries over the last few years. I didn't want him to retire... but he may just have to at the 2007 world cup!

I noticed him fingering his shoulder after a sharp piece of fielding earlier today.

Poor show, wish him all the best.

I feel sorry for him, but in all fairness he hasn't been getting the runs lately and it may actually help the team somewhat.

Well, if he can't bat tomorrow, it won't. Five runs are better than no runs. Also, his form in ODI has been good, so I don't see how thats going to hlep the team. He should be back by the WI tour.

Not one dayers. He has been doing pretty well in the limited overs version.

There's no way he won't bat tomorrow if he's needed.

Maybe the reason he hasn't been getting the runs?

His aversion to short ball might well be something to do with him not having any shots to answer them with? Doesn't excuse dangling your bat outside off stump it has to be said.

Just a thought outside the box. ;)

I think there is a way, a very probable way.
If he's out for eight weeks, why would he aggravate the injury by going out to bat under such pressure? That would be the height of stupidity.

Oh no!

Will this stop him batting tommorow?

Probably. With Sehwag suffering as well...we are basically three men down already :(. All our hopes rest on Yuvraj, Dravid and Jaffer....and unless two of them score centures....here comes a 1-1 draw.

If thats the case, I want some heads to roll.

I agree. This is a definite blow for India at ODIs. So he is probably out till the Champions trophy?

If it's nine down with half an hour to play and he's not batted yet, there's no way he ain't going out there.
