The Haye v Harrison fight is a complete nonsense but such is the poor state of Heavyweight boxing that it's the best fight they can muster. Harrison does have the punch to win but lacks the skill to land it. It's unlikely that Haye will fight the awful Klitschko brothers. It's not that the fighters don't want it but the promoters on both sides know it's a fight their man could lose and they see their meal ticket slipping away. There'll be obstacles put in the way at every opportunity and it might never happen. Not that Haye v either of Klitschoko's is anything to get excited about.

Id love to know what why the Klitschko brothers are awful? A different class to anything that is around right now.

Regarding the British heavyweight scene no2-- ***ton is fighting no4-- Chisora in a rematch next weekend.

WRT Haye versus Audrey I think the former is after an easy payday against a bankable name and Harrison, despite being a shot fighter (IMHO, obv) still has more UK brand recognition than (say) Povetkin or Chagaev.

I actually don't mind Haye tho, under all the bluster and BS I think he's quite a clever guy. I think he goes in for the trash talk because it puts bums on seats.

Harrison will have a punchers chance, but I think Haye will be a bit too quick and agile for him. Both can bang and are chinny tho so it could be a proper tear up.
I don't understand why fans are complaining about Haye lining up a fight with Harrison....

Every champ is entitled to have one hand-picked fight, and they usually pick guys they feel they can beat easily, and earn a bit of cash. Hell, Holyfield did that too!

Then, once this fight is over, he will then have to fight the mandatory number one challenger. The problem is that the mandatory number one challenger in this current, dire heavyweight division is probably someone like Samuel Peter!

In response to chalky - While I can understand the sentiment WRT Chico, that only serves to make the match more special for me because
getting the point deducted for taking his gum shield out only served to back him further into a corner for mine. Will have to agree to disagree on whether he was out or not, I personally don't think he was as he wasn't on wobbly legs when he got up and he was coherant enough to spit it out as soon as he got knocked down, which means he must have still had a functioning brain to think about it. But yeah as I said, the two knock downs + point deduction meant he was pretty much well and truly screwed and had only himself to blame for the dire position he was in and was a dead cert to lose, only to throw everything he had at it and be named victor about 40 seconds after he looked dead and buried, was amazing drama.

Brumby/Burge - Yeah Hagler/Hearns is an absolute beast, crazy fight. Another one where it seems a miracle neither came out brain damaged. Big fan of Hearns personally, love his style, his jabs are awesome with his crazy long arms.

Will probably try and catch Leonard/Duran that Burgey mentioned if I can, never seen that fight and I've been interested in Duran for a long time but not seen much of him yet. Plus Burgey seems like the kind of bloke who knows a good scrap when he sees one

Having been watching a few highlight reels of quality guys recently, This guy in particular ain't half bad. Any fans in the house? His depth perception must be completely insane to be able to slip the way he does, and the level of control he has over his body movement is freakish to say the least. Would have him over Mayweather any day of the week tbh,

Sweat Pea was an excellent technician, but not on the same level as floyd though IMO, shame he he used his boxing career primarily to feed his drug habit later in his career.

On Duran I would definately advise trying to download some of his fights at lightweight the guy was a freak. My favourite Duran fights are the trilogy with Esteban De Jesus remember seeing them on ESPN classic fights when I was younger and was just blown away at the foricity of the fights.

Bump for the fight tonight. Anyone watching? I might catch it, but there's also a UFC event on tonight at the same time so I'm pretty torn. Despite the fact that Haye vs Harrison should never be happening I am pretty interested in watching it 'cause there are so many factors that make it an interesting fight, Shame they're for all the wrong reasons, not two incredibly quality boxers going at each other, rather they both have so many weaknesses to exploit that something big will probably happen, no way can I see this one going the distance. Gonna be a tough decision on which to watch for me.

Harrison actually has all the tools necessary to defeat Haye

If he kept Haye at a distance with a consistent and stiff big right paw, picked him off with left upercuts as the smaller man attempted to get underneath and used his 3 stone weight advantage to sap his strength in clinches, it could be interesting

However, as the guy just refuses to throw punches (his workrate is generally abysmal), I can see an easy night for Haye as the bigger man will simply allow him to swarm in if history is anything to go by

Surprise, surprise, dull old Fraudley threw less punches than Joey Barton.
I'm glad I decided this fight wasn't worth the £14.95 that Sky were charging.

According to Haye it only lasted as long as it did because his family had money on round three

Worst British winning Olympian ever.

At least the Pacquiao Margarito fight was watchable albeit just as one sided as the Haye Harrison bout. What a legend Pacquiao is.

Harrison was truly appalling - didnt come to fight at all

Magarito - pfft

Guy is a limited, cheating **** who should've been banned for life and was a hand-picked opponent from the same stable as Manny

2 fights that were designed to rip-off the punters and nothing more

Didn't see Audrey/Haye fight but thought it interesting that even now Harrison has refused to pull the plug.

Can't see where a five times defeated, gun-shy 39 year old can go from here.

If Pacquiao wanted to hand-pick an opponent why would he pick someone 6 inches taller and 20lbs heavier? Margacheato is **** and a ****, but certainly had a few things going for him that Pacquiao had never been up against before (and frankly a guy his size has no business fighting a guy Margacheato's size at all).
