Bizarre Bowling Figures

My worst has been a very economical 4-0-44-1.

Was hit for six sixes (one of which was run six  )

However my best is 7-5-6-6 so I'm quite chuffed with that.

5-2-6-2 is my best at 3rd XI. We bowled the other team out for 72.

2nd XI = 6-2-12-3, and we lost that game FFS.

My best are 4-2-8-5, although that was back in the U13s against some real poor opposition. Last year I bowled 5-0-11-4, which is probably the best I've ever bowled - that was against a decent batting lineup.
I took 7-9 from a 4-over spell once.

Not really sure what happened - all I can say is that the pitch barely bounced (and I don't mean kept fairly low, I mean balls pitched and rose perhaps 20cm at most, the (new)ball swuing, plenty, and none of the batsmen really had much clue.

Actually, thinking about it, I can and just did say what happened.

I took 7-13 off 9 overs once, which was a far better spell, against batsmen who looked like they had some semblence of a clue and on a pitch that bounced properly. How I bowled that well, however, I don't have a clue, and it'll probably never happen again.

My next best after these two is 4-13-4.

I'd love to bat in those conditions. I'd open the batting and get < 10, not out, every time. Average of infinity.

Know an off-spinner (bowls darts) who bowled 4-4-0-0 back in the U15s. Considering these are 20 over games, that's quite impressive.

I got 1-0-1-4 last year, including a hat-trick.
0.3-0-0-3.

Was in Barbados last year, however as the figures suggest it was a tailend hat-trick that ended the game (we skittled them out for not very many at all before spin joined the attack). Certainly wasn't particularly special bowling.

As a 'keeper, was called upon to bowl towards end of game, with regular bowlers straying.

Did so well, was asked to bowl the last over.
Left the regular bowlers with red faces, and unless someone can prove otherwise, I claim the record of being the only 'keeper asked to bowl the last over.:)

Good luck playing the half-tracker that rolls along the floor (which is what one of our openers was dismissed by as we chased 19, allowing me to come in and hit the winning runs)

Wide rather than a no-ball, but yeah, that's the gist of it.

The 3-0-49-0 was leg side full tosses on a tiny boundary, not a good idea.

Best figures, some combination of 6-2-18-2, 3-0-14-3 or 7-0-34-4.

You got 4 wickets in one innings? And went for just 3-an-over over the course of 6 overs?

I'd be fine with it. Get forward and defend every ball.

Not meaning to rub salt in the wounds, but didn't you get hit for a lot by Brad Hodge in a Twenty20 game aswell?
That was that game, but it wasn't a Twenty20 game. Also got tapped about by Liam Buchanan, who has played probably 10 games of OD cricket for Victoria. The wicket sort of made up for it though. ;)

Actually, did bowl 2 overs for 28 in a Twenty20 once.

One of the best spells I ever bowled went wicketless: 25-16-17-0.

6 dropped catches, a couple of plum LBWs that weren't given (I still don't know why) and I beat the bat. A lot. But at the end of the day all I had to show for it was a good economy rate...

My grandfather once bowled spells of 16-13-6-6 and 4-4-0-4, and he also once took 2 hatricks in the same match, back in the sixties; he still has the ball he did it with.

My earliest cricket memory is watching him take 9-24 for Hutton Vs against a brash young team from Rayleigh or somewhere... one of their batsmen walked off and he just said "That old guy... Jesus!". He was like a metronome, it was frightening. Every ball would be on the spot, some would move back, some would move away, not a lot but just enough.
