Bizarre Bowling Figures

What happened here? :detective
Aren't they Pickup's best bowling figures for the last 3 seasons?

On the subject of bad figures, my club's U20 side has to play a knockout match against local side Northen CC, who just happen to be playing former England U19 player Steve Mullaney who has a FC average of 206. He's going to eat us alive, in last years 1st team Twenty20 knockout he hit 167* against the best team in the Liverpool comp.

What's he wasting his time playing U20s club cricket for? No-one's going to gain anything from it - except the rest of his team, maybe.

Haha what a gun. Shame he plays for Lancashire though.

He's not really, he plays for Northen 1s on Saturdays mainly, this U20 comp is a one time thing as non of the clubs involved have anything over an U15s side.

EDIT: In response to George

I understand that - they have an U21 competition in Cheshire - but it seems to defeat the object of developing young players and giving them a chance to prove what they can do at a decent standard when someone like that pitches up and starts demolishing your attack. His team could therefore win it without having anywhere near the best 11 players in the competition.

The point of the comp isn't really to develop young players, that's what the U15 league and 3rd/4th XIs are for. The standard of clubs in the competition means that most of the teams will be filled with 2nd/1st teamers which is already a very high standard.

And they probably will have the best XI on the pitch anyway, as there's a big chance they could be playing Karl Brown, The captain of Lancs U17s and a 15 year old who recently hit 121* in a twenty over game against Liverpool district and opens the batting for the 2nd team.

He was featured in tWC, in their emerging players articles, has a sponsorship from Puma already and everything.

He is, he hit a monster six miles over the pavilion and was reverse sweeping me for four. At a time like that I felt like killing myself tbh. Thing was I didn't bowl that badly but I just wasn't turning the ball so he could come down the pitch and hit through the line. My good length balls were disappearing miles over my head.

Think my worst's 4-32-0, TBH, but there may have been some worse that I simply thought "stuff it, I CBF to look at them".

My best are 4-2-8-5, although that was back in the U13s against some real poor opposition. Last year I bowled 5-0-11-4, which is probably the best I've ever bowled - that was against a decent batting lineup.

Had figures of 6-5-2-4 once, which I was quite proud of.

Strangely, I never seem to clearly remember my figures when I got spanked.
