Sydney based teams will host double or triple headers at their local grounds over two Sundays, with the winner of each conference playing off in the Grand Final at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Sunday 2 November.
With each KFC T20 Big Bash League team requiring six players on their supplementary lists prior to the start of the season, the Sixers will be on the lookout with spots on that list up for grabs. Selections will be crucial given the ability this season to replace International players, as well as long term injured players, from this list.
In addition to the supplementary spots up for grabs, an Academy team for the Sixers will be selected with from the tournament with further development planned throughout the upcoming summer.
The Sixers will be assessing talent at each of the matches with Sixers General Manager Dom Remond highlighting the pathways program. “This new T20 tournament represents a very clear pathway for those involved to be part of the Big Bash League,” he said.
“Teams have six places on their supplementary lists and given we’ve required players from this list every season, there’s a good chance we’ll be calling on players again in BBL|04.
“It is a real chance for the Sixers to nurture and grow the cricketing talent in our local areas”.
