Better Bat?

Well Jadeja is very similar to the extent that he started his career as a meme bat and in recent years, js a high quality frontline batsman.

BTW, I think they are strikingly similar players in their career progression and output as batsmen. I think Jadeja has a chance to surpass Imran but let’s see how that plays out. I just object to the notion that Imran is better.

Bolo.

International Captain
Imran is horrifiically underrated as a bat by quite a lot of people. Did well for years. Performed against the best group of bowlers ever assembled.

I think he's probably marginally ahead of Jadeja for now. I expect to rate Jadeja ahead a couple of years from now though.

Jadeja's is classic cherry picking as well. When you talk about the peak of a great cricketer, there has to be some substance outside the peak as well.

Like Ponting's from 2001-2007 or Sachin's from 1993-2011. It is fair to rate Imran's bowling peak too from 1980-88. For all these examples, there are enough good performances outside this "peak" period. Imran was a nothing batsman for the entirety of 70s (granted that he debuted very young).
Says who? I have literally never heard that criteria. A peak is a peak, as in sustained top class performance in a specific period.

Nah... peak has to be a continuous period no?
Yeah but that is what I gave for Imran from 1980 to career end.

Jadeja is definitely on an upper trend.

Pretty good but peak batting numbers of 46 is a bit inflated here due to not outs. His runs per match is same as Jadeja in their respective peaks but Jaddu averages 41 while Imran 46.
Sure but Imran has better representative abroad which is the key area Jadeja needs to improve. I think he can.
