How has no one mentioned Moeen Ali at Headingley 2014 yet? Batting doesn’t get much harder than playing the mid 2010s Sri Lanka side in SENA.

I think we can safely say now it was the innings of his career.
That was a good innings tbf, and from a player who rarely delivers in a crisis.

Australia won by 96 runs only. Another 40- 50 more, the panic would have set in.
Never know. What I recall was that they started 5the day 3 down with 250 odd to get and lost five in a heap and needed around 200 still so game was done basically. They still needed around 150 when the 9th fell. My point being it was too much certainly compared to others in that list

IIRC Jayawardene got a jaffa first ball as well. If he'd stuck around it could well have been different. Sanga was on another level in that game.
