Regardless of the outcome of current game, this series has shown glaring flaws of Indian batting.. Top class bowling attack can only carry so much weight.

Not good enough to be considered best side since Waugh’s Aus IMO.
This series? What about, maybe, NZ 2019? They've always been suspect in these conditions.

This has basically been my point this entire thread. I hope some of the Kohli team supporters can see it better now before shoving all India's home stats in our faces.

NZ are hard to beat in their backyard. If India play a series in NZ right now, NZ would be favorite.

Point I am making is yes current Indian batting suck balls.. But that doesn’t mean SA team is mediocre in their conditions. They have played some great cricket.

They played better than expected, but lets not kid ourselves. India entered this as favorites, and after winning the first test, were overwhelming favorites. It shouldnt have come to this.

...But the RSA series isn't over yet. All it'd take is one or two magical Bumrah deliveries and game on. India may yet pull this one out.

Yes. India may still pull it through. Not the most impressive of victories but would still count.

I like how most posters in this thread started off with the assumption that we'd win the series in SA and England, both of which look unlikely at this stage.
Tbh I have always been clear that this team won’t win against NZ in NZ or England. Before that final, I considered NZ to be favorite and there is no surprise they won.

They are beast at home and good/ decent team away. But they won’t win/ draw series away from home like Smith’s team. People voting for India has to do with their dominance at home.

I think India were well on their way to victory in England last year though. Wasn't the cancelled test likely to be rained out anyways?

Can't help but to think that this has been our best opportunity to win in SA. They have been at their weakest ever since readmission. Don't have much hope on India's batting improving much in 4 years as the upcoming batsmen have not been exposed at all on this tour. And our bowling has been at it's best ever and at a point from which it is unlikely to improve.

Disappointed and gutted.
