I do think him batting 141 times below 4 in a quite weak batting line-up atleast not pron to partial criticize.
He batted below four when he first came into the side then went back below four once Mark Waugh came in and cemented his spot there in the last three years of Border’s career. By that time the Aus line up wasn’t weak - they were pushing for the number one spot in the world.
He adapted to the needs of his team, and took the elevator up and down as required. Unlike some others who dgaf about the needs of their side and just chose the spot they liked most and stayed there regardless.

I'll just do a sample

Richards
Gower
Ponting
Lara
Tendulkar
Border
Root
Waugh x2

McGrath
Warne
Hadlee
Anderson
Broad
Ambrose
Walsh

Quickest would be Mark Wood

Molehill

Cricketer Of The Year
I'd struggle to think of any of the top players in the last 30 years I haven't seen play.

Quickest for me would be Shoaib Akhtar, but the bowler I loved watching the most was Dale Steyn, everything just seemed so perfectly balanced.

Yeah Steyn was a fantastic watch. Akram too.

I loved how demonstrative they were.
