Harris in his early days was very much one of the best one day specialists around...he bowled tidely, he was more aggressive with the bat & of course he's always been superb in the field.

But since around 2001 he's well and truly slipped.
Harris was pretty good at the 1992 World Cup, but like you said, he hasn't performed of late.

I thought Adam Gilchrist and Lance Klusner were more than regular attendees in the test team?

How many tests do you play before you become and ODI specialist?

Thenthere must be no bevan no jonty in this thread . What are you talking about dude . I think all the good players from odi circuit have had played test cricket. Odi specialists that I am talking about are those who are not regular part of the test sides of the country .
IMO , an ODI Specialist is one who hasnt been able to put forward any good performances in test cricket when compared to his ability in the ODI game.......hence the inclusion of Bevan,Jadeja,Harris in the thread as they havent given even a single good performance(consistent with their record in Limited overs cricket , that is...)........Afridi has scored a 100( atleast one that I know of) in test cricket, and is not just an ODI specialist IMO.

Jonty Rhodes, a one-day specialist?!!!!!:O :O :O
I haven't seen many stranger comments agreed by so many.
Check-out his Test-record from 1998 forwards.
Michael Bevan is without question the best one-day player ever IMO.
England's best three ODI batsmen of recent years have been total flops in Tests, Knight, Hick and Fairbrother.
Harris cannot, on any count, be considered a poor ODI player - even if he was a number-eleven, he would have played for most of his career as a bowler! He has again seriously underachieved with the bat in Tests, though.
Jadeja deserves a mention, also, though I always thought he should have played a few more Tests than he did.
Roger Twose was a brilliant ODI player, one of my favourites. I loved his and Cairns' shows in WC99. New Zealand's storming of the fortress was one of my favourite aspects of that tournament. Their team then was fantastic.

Jonty Rhodes was always a sure pick for ODIs. He didn't have this level of job security in Tests, although he did play a fair few. Still, he was always considered far more of an ODI player than a Test player.

From 1998 onwards Rhodes was dropped from Test-cricket once, and that was hastily realised to be a huge error. He would almost certainly have helped save South Africa from being made to follow-on by Caddick.
IMO the "one-day specialist" tag was over-hastily added because he retired from Tests so long before he retired from ODIs. 2 years playing ODIs only.
