It probably doesn't qualify as a genuinely great goal, but Platt's volley against Belgium in the last minute of extra time in the 2nd Round of the 1990 WC was the most cathartic goal I've seen. What a time to score...

Beckham's free kick against yer Greeks to send us to the 2002 WC was pretty special too.

However, of all the goals already mentioned, few goals touch Ryan Giggs' FA Cup Semi-Final effort against Arsenal in 1999 - second half of extra time, 1-1, and Giggs beats 6 men and lashes it home into the roof of the net. Astonishing.

Of course, an orgasmic moment if ever there was one. Teddy's and Ole's about a month later were rather special.
The 4 fourth brazilian goal in '70 is a masterclass of football, and Bobby Charlton knew how to strike a ball, Mexico '66 sticks in the mind. Great shout from Brumby there too regarding Platt's effort. Seedorf hit a 40 yard effort which defies belief also.

I think Peter Daicos deserves a mention, some of his goals were freaky, but Blight after the siren was the best for my money.
