i guess the fact that i did not select bevan started a debate.
i would not pick afridi since he is not a consistent batsman. with a goo strike rate, a decent average and consistency are also needed. sehwag could come in, but in one-dayers, sehwag has not been as good as he is in tests. sehwag, does need to get a few more one-day runs to get into a all-time one-day xi. however, sehwag would be in a all-time indian one-day xi and also in a xi of the test players i have seen (1992-2004). in tests, sehwag has been consistent enough scoring about 1000 runs in the last 9 tests and the 3 series he has played. he has played, but in one-dayers, he does not have much to show besided 3-4 good innings.
bevan has an one-day strike rate of 74 and a 56 average which has been boosted by the high number of not-outs which he has has coming lower down the order. however, he did play 2 important knocks against england and new england to take australia to wins. bevan, has not done too much recently as well and players like viv richards get in ahead of him.
