Best cricket sixs

Kohli once picked up a ball from well outside off stumps and casually flicked over mid on. Ishant after that said something like "who will want to be a bowler after seeing shots like that". I don't remember which game it was or what keywords to use to search. Any help?

Edit: It was actually Rohit during his 264 innings

Whatever it takes!!!
He battled his wrist bone issues from early 1999 all the way to 2003 before the WC. Its a shame its not given the consideration that is given for the tennis elbow problem of Sachin, for example.

The six Astle hit during his 222 off Caddick over his head was something special, sounded like a shot gun.
Yep, that was nuts.

Best ones I ever saw live were:

Chris Cairns off Flintoff at Lord's in 04, to break the most sixes in Test cricket record. Flicked him from off stump into the stand so effortlessly. Ponting's in the first ever T20 international, flicked Jeff Wilson into the Eden Park top tier roof guttering. The whole ground went 'holy ****, that hit right up there at the top'
Colin de Grandhomme pumped Shane Bond over the Eden Park No.2 stand during a domestic T20 ground, and Bond stood there for what seemed like minutes seemingly thinking 'how does that happen to me, and who the **** is this guy' (this was well before CdG played for NZ).
Another Shane Bond one - Graeme Hick at 38 playing for Worcestershire hooked Bond off his nose over the tree at New Road for country miles. That was insane.

Of course, the correct answer is G.Elliott, Eden Park, 2015.

I'm pretty sure that Aruvinda De Silva hit a reverse pull for 6 (don't think it was a switch hit).

Wouldn't be able to find a clip of it, but one of Kohli's straight 6s when he chased down an improbably total at the recent T20 world cup was pretty special.

Botham hitting his first ball back over Craig McDermott's head (the 2nd one's actually a fantastic shot).

Flintoff stepping back and then punching Lee for six over the scaffolding at Edgbaston in 2005.

KP reversing Murali at the same ground in 2006.

I saw Chris Cairns land a 6 here at out of the Basin Reserve on to the road over long-on in an ODI v Australia in the late 90s. I was on the bank more squarer.

While hitting it on to the road is fairly common for left-handers. It is not for right-handers. Quirkiness of the ground where they have turned a square into an oval and built up banks the highest at those corners which he hit it over.

Also John R Reid famously hit it on to this same road back in the 50s or 60s in a provincial match, but the ground was differently aligned back then and with no high banks, landing in a tram an ending up at Island Bay.

Kohli’s six to Rauf easily. The greatest moment in the greatest T20 match ever played. The match situation(with Hardik doing nothing, 28 of 8 required, Rauf being the most experienced t20 bowler on that pitch), the pressure of an Ind-Pak match, the massive crowd, and of course the fact he was able to execute that shot.

There is of course Kohli's six last year to Harris Rauf. The match situation and the shot itself to that length back over the head is stuff of legends.

I'm pretty sure that's not Kohli.

(edit: well this is super weird. when I quote your post I see Kohli. When I look at your original post it's Botham. Hmmmm)

Anyway, this is the Kohli 6 I'd mentioned. Well done for finding the clip.
