And how useful it would be to have Gary "I could bowl every style crapily"Sobers in your bowling lineup?realistically,
I would go for McGrath, Marshall, WAsim and either Warne/Murali with Sobers providing the back up. Maybe on a real turner, I would drop Wasim and use Sobers as the left arm seamer in my side.. Such a luxury when you have Sobers at 6 in your line up..
Very useful, because he's not crapAnd how useful it would be to have Gary "I could bowl every style crapily"Sobers in your bowling lineup?
I am amazed at the statements you makeAnd how useful it would be to have Gary "I could bowl every style crapily"Sobers in your bowling lineup?
juz because u love Imran Khan doesn't excuse u making constant digs at one of the greatest cricketers of all time.... we all know u have a man crush on Imran Khan and we don't mind that. It is one thing to adore one player but quite another to consistently belittle other players because of this in every other thread. U may think, without having ever watched Gary Sobers play or bowl, that Imran is better. But people who have seen Sobers and his generation believe that he is a more than capable bowler fit to be in any team and that is an opinion that the majority here share. So please try to keep your opinions to yourself. As I said, it is one thing to have healthy debates. Quite another to have arguments about your foolish beliefs on people you have not even seen play the game.......And how useful it would be to have Gary "I could bowl every style crapily"Sobers in your bowling lineup?
How about left arm orthodox? Or chinamen? He could bowl all threeI prefer Khan over Sobers TBH. Not because of any huge reason, just like him more. I'm a big fan of fast bowlers and Khan is a bloody good one and Khan is no mug with the bat by any means. Sobers is a great batsman but medium fast bowling is just too boring for me. Just my personal preference of course.
The poor ChinamenHow about left arm orthodox? Or chinamen? He could bowl all three
I love to watch Testa more than ODIs & Tests.Infact,I'm one of those persons who think all forms of cricket other than tests should be banned .Other than watching odi's and T20's what else is do you do to enhance your cricketing knowledge. I am askingseriously and not to offend. If you are offended I apologise in advance.
I consider Gary Sobers one of the greatest batsmen & crciketers of alltime & would easily make my top 10(if not top 5) but as a bowler,I don't have any respect for someone averaging around 35,has strike rate of over 90 & takes just 2.52 wickets per match(lesser than rubbish bowlers like Mohammad Sami do).Having such stats means you are a rubbish bowler, doesn't matter whether you can bowl one style or all.And its true that I form my opinions mostly on statistics but thats how I do it & I've admitted that might be wrong in doing so in some cases, infact in many cases.I am asking because if you do love the game as pasionately as your presence here may indicate (may not too) then you might not do too badly yo read a bit about the game and the past greats. I assure you you will be happy you took out the time to do that.
I consider Miller one of the top 3 allrounders of alltime but don't think it would be a great decision to have him as one of the bowlers considering he would take 3 wickets per match despite having an average of 22.
- Barnes
- Lillee
- MIller
- Grimmett
- Murali
I put Miller instead of some pure bowlers who I consider better as bowlers since five pure bowlers is not a very good option for team balance. I consider Miller the best fast bowling all rounder. Personal opinion
I still feel you should read too. There is great literature in cricket and its really worthwhile reading. Mind you there are pretty ordinary books tooo but its not that difficult to find out he great authors and greatbooks.I love to watch Testa more than ODIs & Tests.Infact,I'm one of those persons who think all forms of cricket other than tests should be banned .

I've read many & still read but form my opinions mostly on the basis of statistics. The first one was Mike Rundell's Dictionary of Cricket in mid 1990s to start with & to know about basic terminologies used in cricket & since then,I've hardly stopped reading books which include biographies & books by cricket writers & journalists.Anyway, thanks for your kind suggestion.I still feel you should read too.
