11. Shventank Shanib £750,000 (Mendoza)
Plays for: Coco's Nuts Stamina: competent W/Keeping: worthless
Age: 18 years old Batting: competent Concentration: proficient
BT Rating: 13,125 Bowling: respectable Consistency: mediocre

On the other hand I have this guy:

13. Carl Arnison
Plays For: Coco's Nuts
Nationality: New Zealand
Age: 17 Years Old
Battrick Rating: 10,097 (+10)
Wages: £765 p/w

Stamina: mediocre Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: competent Concentration: abysmal
Bowling: competent Consistency: abysmal

Who I picked up for 150,000 after putting a speculating bid on him to keep an eye on what happens and then no one else bid. I wanted a fast bowler and he has the potential to bat a bit.

Worth training? Or will his ridiculously low secondaries mean the death knell for young Carlos?

Well, it's four levels' difference, so perhaps not so bad. If you're going to keep him, and will be happy with a Wond/Wond all-rounder, you may as well stick 1 batting, 1 bowling and 1 fielding net on him. Perhaps WK if you've got spare nets, and stamina too (but that can wait, as it's going to be 2-3 seasons before he's playable anyway).

Thanks mate!

A Wond/Wond all-rounder would be a stand out in my team at the moment  So I'll probably train him up and see how he goes.

Thinking about it a bit more, you could conceivably go higher than that if you keep single-netting his primaries to 22yo, even 23. Double-netting could help you end up with a beast, and may well be worth it, but it'd take about 4 seasons for his secondaries to catch up.

I think.

Today, in my still-alive quest for FC.II survival, I've bowled out monkey spunk mopeds (MSM) for 221, and am 21/1 in reply. Unfortunately, Buckley's just got himself out. Fish, Sandwith and Mulryne to come. Hopefully I'll manage to hand in until at least the end of today.

Playing against the team that's ahead of me in FC by 4 points at the top of the ladder. Batted first on a cracked pitch and only got 113 (my no.1 bat failed against a very mediocre talent). Rolled them for 181 and am now 203/5 (no.1 bat failed again...to someone who was simlarly poor). Won't get many more though as they're into the tail. Will take a miracle with the ball to get up. Hopefully the cracked pitch comes right open in the 4th innings.

Murali basically was the same as SOC bloke. Just comp/wort with worthless stamina. One netted him and flodded him with keeping and fielding nets for 2-3 seasons. Ended at exceptional/exceptional by the time he was 23. Though looking back I should have tried double netted him and got him to masterful.

You can turn a nobody into someone decent with enough nets and a fair bit of work. But really your probably better off trying to pull a respectable 17yo and flooding them with nets, then wasting time on comp players with poor secondaries. Even though Murali looks good, you should look higher or you will have medicore forever. Though if you have spare nets go for it. But would drop him off once you get better trainees.
