Bounced back from last week's loss with a comfortable win over The Conquerors. Lost the toss and bowled first, bowled them out for 88 and knocked off the runs in 11 overs, should do my NRR a world of good. Got rubbish ratings though, those two league losses really screwing up my team morale.

Whoever owns Asterix XI is a big meany. Bowls me out for 88, wins by 10 wickets.

This is 2 losses in a row for me, and 3 from 4 games. I gotta get out of this rut.

Oh good stuff Ash, very nicely done. Good efforts from Dunne and Griffin to get up there. Strange to note that there are no Asterix XI players in the cup's best bowlers or batters list.

Nah not really, I'm not playing my star batsman and I don't have any star bowlers. Might have had a batsman in there after yesterday's match but I was only chasing 88. :p

Good stuff ash, just one you missed - Bissel (AA for President!) took 4-25 against me. Edit: don't worry, see below.

Actually don't worry about it, it was a mistake on my part. I thought the first top 10 list you posted were the 10 best performances overall, but it's just for round 2 so you're right.

Player of the week
Eddie Saunders (Got Spin)
The young, destructive left-handed Eddie Saunders, captain of Rob Hing's Got Spin, led from the front in his team's clash with the red hot AA for President!. Batting first, he treated the loyal crowd of 1,121 fans to a flawless display of batting, striking 20 fours in his unbeaten 163, which took a mere 139 balls. This innings was enhanced by the quality of the bowling attack, which was described by a random spectator as "strong". The excitement was constant throughout the match, with the teams dead even at the end of AA for President!'s innings, adequately showing the evenness of the two teams.

Team of the week
College Dropouts (Group D)
In one of the biggest clashes of Round 2, College Dropouts welcomed Tarick Weber's VCC to College Dropouts CG in a game which would heavily influence who would finish top of Group D. Despite starting shakily with the loss of their two big guns, previous Player of the week Usmal Jayasuriya and Zat Kennedy, fighting innings from Vincent, Adams and Frazer rescued the innings and took it to a defendable 283 all out. Line and length bowling from Ray Westhead, who finished with 5/45, strangled the VCC batsmen and kept the total to 251 all out, 32 runs short.

Best effort
Got Spin/AA for President! (Group A)
The fairly large Group A clash lived up to it's hype, with Rob Hing's Got Spin and Marc Robbins' AA for President! locking horns at Got Spin CG, in front of a small crowd of 1,121. Got Spin powered their way to 6/326 off their 50 overs, Saunders (163*) and Ridgewell (97) putting on a massive 226 for the 3rd wicket, with only one other batsman making it past 20 runs. Richardson was the standout bowler for AA for President!, the 25-year old taking 4/66. AA for President! started poorly, losing 3 wickets for 83 runs, before the in-form Hohsinuddin struck a fluent 99, tragically trapped in front off a swinging Abbey full toss. Orsborne hit a run-a-ball 63, until the fireworks begun with Ranatunga's unbeaten 75, a score which took only 55 balls to reach, which included 9 boundaries, including a towering six over long on. Lambert was the best bowler, with 2/49 off his full 10. Despite Ranatunga's heroics, the scores were dead level at the end of the innings, resulting in the first tie of the cup.

Great work rob, real exciting stuff. Especially when saunders was player of the week and my game was involved in the "best effort"

Keep it up :D

Bit annoying that im coming second last, but im in a strong group and im not able to use my gun bowler because of his fitness :(

Yep. I keep track of each team's Runs For, Balls For, Runs Against and Balls Against. Work out the team's overall run rate for, then subtract the team's overall run rate against. When a team is all out, that is counted as 300 balls. The only case when a team has less than 300 balls for an innings is when they chase down a target.

Pretty sure that is correct, could be wrong.
